“Jealousy Runs So Deep”: Jon Jones Fires Back at Daniel Cormier for Picking Khabib Over Him as UFC GOAT

Jon Jones feels Daniel Cormier's jealousy is the primary reason he continues to deny his GOAT status in interviews.
The DC vs. Jones rivalry is not new in the MMA world, and it continues to garner attention despite the fighters being retired for years.
DC was the one who began the dispute this time. Jones, not wanting to take any insults, clapped back at his long-time rival.
Jon Jones Claps Back at Daniel Cormier
In an interview with AFL Global this week, the former dual-weight champion DC was asked about Khabib Nurmagomedov's place in the GOAT argument with Jon Jones.
He instantly replied by taking Jones out of the conversation. He said, "Jon Jones, for as good as he is, has one loss. Why? Because he made a mistake. Khabib dominated and never made a mistake. Never got himself disqualified. I don't know why more people share this opinion."
DC made it clear that he doesn’t include Jon Jones and Anderson Silva in the GOAT conversation due to their failed drug tests.
This didn’t sit well with Jones, and he was quick to respond on Instagram. "I started in the UFC so early that I didn't even know what the rules were. The night I fought Matt was the first night I had ever even heard the term '12-to-6.' Literally, my entire career has been in the main event, fighting for a world title," he wrote.
Further firing back at DC, Jones wrote, "My brother, Daniel Cormier, your jealousy runs so deep through your blood. I honestly pray that the good Lord heals you from your envy and that, one day, you won't feel the need to do interviews like this. Until then, it's flattering to see the passion you have when it comes to me."
While the rivalry appears intense, Jones previously said that DC keeps it alive because the money involved makes it difficult to ignore; otherwise, there is no animosity. However, DC rejected his claims yet again.
DC Denied Off-Camera Truce With Jones
Jones once claimed that during the filming of ALF Reality 3, a Russian MMA reality series in Thailand, Cormier admitted that the rivalry is over, but it is too profitable to drop it on camera.
According to Jones, DC claimed to keep going with it. Cormier, on his YouTube channel, however, flatly rejected Jones' claims. And confessed that they never had this talk off-camera.
DC positioned the rivalry as very genuine, and he indicated that he didn't want a fairy-tale ending to it. He can sleep while being Jones' nemesis.
Cormier's statements show how serious the hatred is. Despite two championship fights and years of trash talk, it appears that this is an ongoing struggle between two greats who refuse to give up their weapons no matter what.
