Jean Silva Sends Ominous Warning to Jose Delgado After “Coward” Accusation

Jean Silva won't hesitate to repeat history at his upcoming UFC Noche fight against Jose Delgado, whose inflammatory remarks have left him unbothered. Instead, Silva is more interested in settling the score inside the Octagon with his fists.

Matters are heating up between the featherweight fighters, with Delgado's latest taunts fanning the flame. The Mexican fighter accused 'Lord's in-cage antics, like barking at opponents, of being a "farce" to hide his cowardice 

Appearing in an interview with  MMA Junkie, Brazilian fighter Silva has clapped back at that criticism with conviction. "As they say in Brazil, 'Say good things, say bad things, say something about me. It don't matter,'" he told Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie, translated from Portuguese.

Further, the Brazilian Muay Thai maestro has made sure Delgado understands that his words will have consequences. Referring to Delgado's provocative claims of putting Silva "down like a dog," the Fighting Nerds star replied, "The last guy who said the things he's saying, who said he'd put me down like a dog, he ended up sleeping on the mat, so some practice."

Only last year, in April 2025, the UFC fandom witnessed a massive showdown between Silva and American fighter Bryce Mitchell, complete with unforgettable theatrics. Mitchell had made strikingly similar remarks after Silva barked at him in the face-offs. Inside the Octagon, however, Silva made him eat his words, dominating the rounds before putting him to sleep with a ninja choke in the second round.

Clearly, the Brazilian fighter has quite the experience in handling trash talk, whether through his face-off shenanigans or his Octagon performance. However, Delgado too is ready to give the No. 6 featherweight star a hard time.

The odds for the Saturday bout are tilted toward Jean Silva. However, Jose Delgado is also coming in strong with his performance placing him among the division's best. The Mexican fighter's last fight against Austin Bashi was truly a spectacle, where he secured a unanimous decision win. Delgado punctuated the fight with 70 strikes and 35 significant strikes. 

Beyond the showstopper, Delgado has a near-perfect UFC record, with the exception of only one decision loss against Nathaniel Wood last year. Still, the MMA Lab fighter will be the underdog in the clash against the No. 6 featherweight, Jean Silva. 

Silva heralds an impressive finishing rate, having won four of his fights via KO/TKO and one via submission. However, the bitter loss against Diego Lopes at Noche UFC 2025 is still a fresh memory, although he returned to the victory column earlier this year with his decision win against Arnold Allen. 

No doubt, the bout will go down to the wire, with the fighters trading barbs outside the cage. Now, the featherweight challengers have more on the line than simply their UFC rankings.
