Logan Storley (18-4 MMA, 3-2 PFL) , a former Bellator MMA Interim Welterweight Champion, has had the luxury of fighting in his home state of South Dakota seven times throughout his pro career, dating back to his professional debut in the sport of MMA in August of 2015.

That Friday night, he made the walk to the cage for the first time in the late Resurrection Fighting Alliance for an undercard contest versus Bill Mees (2-4 MMA) in RFA 29: USA vs. Brazil. Storley’s first trek to the cage was a smashing success.

Even though the fight was an advertised three rounds at five minutes per round, Logan Storley only needed little more than half of a round to complete his assignment. Ground and pound shots spelled the end to his first career victory as a fighter. He’s come a long way since then, but he’s never forgotten about South Dakota.

Logan Storley Getting Main Event Spot on PFL’s May 7 Card in South Dakota

As far as Storley’s last fight in South Dakota, it took place in June of 2024 on the final card of the 2024 PFL regular season. This contest versus Luca Poclit (10-2 MMA, 0-1 PFL) saw the fight go to the scorecards, with Storley winning by way of unanimous decision after 15 minutes of action.

Upon entering the PFL World Tournament in 2025, Logan Storley became a finalist in the welterweight bracket, but the title bout ended on a down note. Thad Jean (11-0 MMA, 7-0 PFL) bested Storley via unanimous decision. Undeterred, Storley will soon make his return to the SmartCage.

On May 7, Storley, the No. 4 contender at 170 lbs in the PFL, will be headlining the PFL’s return to South Dakota against No. 6 contender Florim Zendeli (11-1-1 MMA, 4-0 PFL.)

Dissecting Florim Zendeli Ahead of Clash with Logan Storley

Zendeli is quickly rising up the rankings at welterweight coming into the fight against Storley on the first Saturday night in the month of May. Upon joining the PFL’s active roster during 2024, he’s gotten his hand raised in victory in each of the four fights he’s contested under the promotional banner.

Back in October, Zendeli scored a unanimous decision after three rounds of action over Omar el Dafrawy (14-6 MMA, 4-1 PFL) during PFL Champions Series 2 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. All told, he’s gone 5-0 in his last five fights.

Zendeli is currently on a seven-fight unbeaten streak predating the beginning of his PFL tenure. He hasn’t lost a fight since October of 2021, when he was defeated (first-round knockout) by Maurice Abevi (9-1 MMA) in National Fighting Championship 6.

True Test for Logan Storley

At the core, the upcoming contest between Logan Storley and Florim Zendeli is a crucial bout for the former fighter. Zendeli is on a hot streak and isn’t too far away from being firmly in the conversation for the PFL Welterweight Championship.

As the time starts to tick down before the fight in Sioux Falls at Sanford Pentagon and Logan Storley begins to prepare for training camp, he can’t afford to take someone like Florim Zendeli lightly. One false move from Storley on the night of May 2 could spell disaster for him and a high-stakes contest for Zendeli next time out.
