Paddy Pimblett has called out Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev for 'manufacturin' their beef after the former teammates suddenly turned into rivals to promote their fight.

In an era where staged spats and manufactured social media drama often dictate fight bookings, Paddy Pimblett is drawing a line in the sand. The Scouse lightweight sensation made it crystal clear that he has zero interest in acting out fake rivalries just to sell pay-per-views.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Green Light podcast with Jason Kelce, the Liverpool native called out the trend of fighters manufacturing bad blood for clout. Specifically, Pimblett pointed toward former middleweight champion Sean Strickland and top contender Khamzat Chimaev as examples of forced antagonism that he simply refuses to replicate.

“I’m not really into that,” Pimblett said regarding manufactured conflict. “I’m not gonna start saying stuff about someone if it’s just fake.”

Pimblett’s comments arrive at a time when fight fans have grown increasingly weary of dramatic online beefs that dissolve into friendly handshakes the moment cameras stop rolling.

Authentic Rivalry Drives "The Baddy"

Pimblett (24-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) has never had trouble generating interest or drawing massive crowds. Whether selling out arenas in London or lighting up Las Vegas, his charismatic personality and unfiltered mouth have made him one of the biggest attractions in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, he insists that every piece of hostility he displays is genuine.

Look no further than his long-standing feud with former featherweight king Ilia Topuria. The two stars famously clashed in a hotel lobby back in 2022, kicking off a bitter rivalry that remains just as volatile today. That raw tension is precisely what Pimblett believes fans want to see, rather than scripted trash talk designed strictly for marketing algorithms.

Sitting at #5 in the official UFC lightweight rankings, Pimblett is currently riding high following an impressive first-round submission victory over Benoit Saint Denis. While he continues to heal up and wait for his next assignment, rumors are swirling that a major fight announcement is right around the corner, with potential matchups against Topuria or Arman Tsarukyan looming large.

Whatever fight the UFC ends up booking for the Scouser next, fans can rest assured that any pre-fight fireworks will be 100 percent real. Pimblett has built his entire brand on being unapologetically himself, and he has no plans to start acting now.
