Tim Welch, the longtime head coach of "Sugar" Sean O'Malley, has displayed the sharp technique Paddy Pimblett used to stop Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 329.

England's Paddy Pimblett appears to have earned words of high praise from Tim Welch, the longtime head coach of former UFC bantamweight champion "Sugar" Sean O'Malley

Welch, who himself has competed as a professional MMA fighter, has put forth a demonstration, showing fight fans his breakdown of Pimblett's brilliant maneuvering in the British fighter's latest octagon appearance.

Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett scored a scary submission win over Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 329

Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett is fresh off a first-round submission victory against France's Benoit Saint Denis in their lightweight matchup that transpired at UFC 329 this past Saturday night.

The fight witnessed Pimblett, who's regarded as a grappling maestro, seemingly put his fearsome foe to sleep and secure the first-round technical submission win via a Peruvian necktie.

The performance elicited considerable praise for Pimblett from a number of fans and experts in the MMA community, who highlighted the Liverpudlian's sheer ferocity and sharp technique.

There were also concerns about Saint Denis's well-being after the scary submission, but he regained consciousness soon thereafter.

Pimblett subsequently reaffirmed that his quest to compete for and capture the UFC lightweight title, currently belonging to Justin Gaethje, who outpointed him earlier this year, continues.

"Sugar" Sean O'Malley's trainer Tim Welch displayed Paddy Pimblett's crafty maneuvering in UFC 329 win

In the aftermath of UFC 329, "Sugar" Sean O'Malley's trainer and friend, Tim Welch, broke down Paddy Pimblett's incredible win over Benoit Saint Denis.

Taking to his YouTube channel, Welch -- whose star pupil O'Malley is himself seeking to reclaim UFC bantamweight gold -- was all praise for Pimblett.

Presently, Pimblett stands at the No. 9 spot, whereas Saint Denis is at No. 5 in the UFC lightweight division on the official Meta UFC Rankings. That is, of course, set to change in the next rankings update, given the outcome of their recent fight.

Welch alluded to their current ranking differential and indicated that the English combatant impressively bested his higher-ranked French rival.

Moreover, Welch asserted that Saint Denis applied pressure right from the get-go and whipped up a headkick. He then dived into a takedown, which Pimblett brilliantly responded to.

Demonstrating the sequences with a training partner, Welch explained, "He (Paddy Pimblett) didn't just grab the neck and jump for a guillotine. He used the head-only guillotine to sprawl his legs back, circle him off the cage, and really threaten this guillotine deep."

Welch underscored that Saint Denis started rolling to break free of Pimblett's grasp but was stopped craftily.

Welch added, "Benoit rolled all the way to his knees, and (Paddy) sunk in this just beautiful, beautiful D'Arce, Paddy Pimblett did. Started squeezing the D'Arce."

He continued, "And notice my left arm's really deep. That's how you know this D'Arce choke's tight. So Paddy ended up sitting in like more of a Peruvian necktie D'Arce choke here and pass Benoit Saint Denis out; took him out."

As of this time, the official verdict of Paddy Pimblett's win over Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 329 is credited to have come by way of a Peruvian necktie.

Nevertheless, Welch implied that there was an element of the D'Arce choke utilized, with both the D'Arce and the Peruvian necktie being front headlock submission moves notably taught in the martial art of BJJ.
