Regina Tarin Remains Undefeated with Win at UFC Noche

Regina Tarin remains undefeated with a big win over JJ Aldrich at UFC Noche
Regina Tarin returned at UFC Noche for her second UFC outing, having won by unanimous decision on her debut.
She took on veteran JJ Aldrich in her quest to become ranked and picked up another unanimous decision. At just 21 years old, she'll likely see herself with a ranking next to her name with a win over the #15-ranked flyweight.
The future of the flyweight division is bright with Tarin looking to make a big splash at such a young age.
Regina Tarin Remains Undefeated
In the first round, Tarin showed plenty of positives against a much more experienced fighter. She used her length well, countered effectively, and was able to defend the single takedown attempt by Aldrich. The two flyweights ended the first by 'fighting in a phone booth' and standing and banging.
The second round began with Tarin clearly beginning to get frustrated that the American wasn't walking forward as she wanted to fight by countering. She called Aldrich on by pointing down to the mat, although the more experienced Aldrich didn't take the bait.
Regina Tarin began to take over by prolonging her combinations, landing flush multiple times, and snapping the back of Aldrich's head on several occasions, forcing the American to attempt a takedown, albeit unsuccessfully.
The final round saw Tarin again on the front foot, landing cleanly and mixing her strikes between landing at range, in the clinch, and within boxing range. Aldrich was able to do well as the round progressed and as Tarin slowed down. She countered well herself and landed cleanly on a number of occasions. She bloodied the nose of the Mexican and was able to utilise some sloppy defensive work and land on Tarin through the guard.
The judges scored the bout 29-28, 29-28, and 29-28, all in favour of the Mexican, who remains undefeated. She called herself "the future of the division" in her post-fight speech and it's hard to argue with her.
