Tai Tuivasa's statement on his latest MMA loss at UFC 331
Tai Tuivasa currently holds the record for the longest losing streak in UFC history, tied with MMA legend Tony Ferguson, at eight back-to-back UFC defeats. Tuivasa's latest mixed martial arts matchup witnessed him suffer a split decision defeat at the hands of the Taekwondo star and ex-Karate Combat heavyweight champion Robelis Despaigne at UFC 331 on September 19.
The Australian athlete has now taken to his official Instagram handle, posting a few photographs of himself alongside a statement about his recent setback. An excerpt from it reads as follows:
"Had a crack no good. Sorry all my peoples I fell short again. Thank you Jesus for all my blessings. Been chilling with my family, and I'm way too blessed to be stressed. Thank you."
Tagging a few members from his camp and friends, he wrote, "Big love to my peoples." He subsequently added, "We put in the work and I didn't get the job done. Back to work."

Tai Tuivasa's lighthearted response to questions about his UFC standing
Tai Tuivasa's aforementioned Instagram post drew a vast array of reactions from fight fans, including many who lent their support to him. A few netizens cited the rumors that he might be released from the UFC in light of his eight-fight losing streak.
One commenter asked whether he was still in the UFC, in response to which Tuivasa lightheartedly jested by writing, "Nah. @kfc!" -- implying that he was now a part of the U.S.-based KFC fast food chain rather than the UFC MMA organization.
Tuivasa's last victory came back in early 2022 when he knocked out fellow KO artist Derrick Lewis. He then clashed in a fierce fight with Ciryl Gane, knocking the French fighter down before eventually being stopped via KO. That was followed by a knockout loss against Sergei Pavlovich.
The Aussie combatant was later on the wrong end of submission stoppages against Alexander Volkov and Marcin Tybura. It preceded his points defeats against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Tallison Teixeira, Louie Sutherland, and Robelis Despaigne.
