UFC veteran King Green has revealed a deeply personal decision, explaining why he no longer has a home to call his own after prioritizing the people closest to him instead. He shared how he would rather make sure his friends and family have a home to live in than worry about having a house for himself.
King Green Has No Home of His Own
In a recent Instagram video, Green had an important discussion about what being "homeless" meant to him. He explained that although he technically considers himself homeless, it doesn't necessarily mean that he has nowhere to stay. For him, his support system means he always has a place to go.
"I am homeless, but I am not houseless. I can go to anyone's house. I just don't have my own home," he explained in the Instagram video.
The veteran fighter then went on to explain why he made the important decision to put his own housing needs behind the needs of those around him.
"I put everybody else before me just to make sure all my family was taken care of, all my friends are taken care of," he said.
For Green, the selfless sacrifice seemed to be a simple calculation. He firmly believes that he can handle uncertainty; however, choosing to give security to his loved ones who might have a harder time providing it for themselves was far more important.
'I Can Go Fight and Figure It Out'
Green continued to explain why he put himself second. He pointed out that his experience as a professional fighter gave him the resilience and confidence to find a way forward from even the darkest of situations.
"I can go fight and figure it out, but for them, it's gonna be harder to figure it out than it is for me," he explained.
His comments offered audiences a deep insight into Green's priorities outside of the Octagon. It shows us the inner mindset of a fighter who has spent a large portion of his career embracing adversity.
While he may not have a house to call his own, he firmly believes that he has something more valuable: a strong network of friends and family who have a place to call their own 'home'.
