Usman Nurmagomedov Had Plans to Replicate Abubakar Nurmagomedov’s UFC 229 Move if Something Went South at UFC 330

UFC 229's chaos involved Abubakar Nurmagomedov committing a restricted act that Usman Nurmagomedov could have resorted to at UFC 330.
Usman Nurmagomedov knows how things can turn chaotic in a matchup between a Dagestani and an Irish fighter. Hence, he had plans to follow the UFC 229 actions of his cousin-brother, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, at UFC 330.
Usman, who attended UFC 330 as part of Islam Makhachev's team, mentioned that he wouldn't mind replicating Abubakar's move if things go south.
Which Abubakar Nurmagomedov move did Nurmagomedov want to use?
UFC 229, featuring the noted Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor encounter, ended in a debacle as Khabib jumped into McGregor's corner after the fight, starting a post-fight brawl. While multiple members of Khabib's team, including Makhachev, also got into the scuffle with McGregor's team, Abubakar and a couple more jumped the cage and went on to hit McGregor for his distasteful remarks about Khabib in the lead-up to the fight.
Given that the UFC 330 main event between Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry represented the second installment of the coveted Dagestan vs. Ireland rivalry, Usman considered a reincarnation of the chaotic brawl at UFC 330. The PFL lightweight champion disclosed that he would deal with the situation by jumping into the cage, just as Abubakar had done at UFC 229.
A video on X displayed Usman greeting Khabib and others inside Makhachev's dressing room at UFC 330 as he revealed his blueprint to deal with the scenario.
Usman said, "If something gonna wrong, I'm gonna jump inside the cage."

But just like the smooth buildup to the UFC 330 main event, the fight between Makhachev and Machado Garry ended with the fighters and their camps showing mutual respect. Usman, hence, didn't have to replicate Abubakar's prohibited UFC 229 move at UFC 330.
The conclusion of UFC 330 also left him merrier, as Makhachev added another feather to Team Khabib's cap.
Usman Nurmagomedov Lauds Islam Makhachev for Adding to Their Team’s Glory
Islam Makhachev bagged two more coveted records with his unanimous decision victory over Machado Garry at UFC 330. Firstly, he became the first former UFC lightweight to defend the welterweight title successfully. And then, he also established the longest winning streak in UFC history (17 wins), leaving behind Anderson Silva.
Being a member of Team Khabib, Usman had every reason to be delighted, and he didn't shy away from expressing his appreciation for Makhachev. The PFL lightweight also viewed the time as "one of the best" for the team given its success.
Usman said, "Islam Makhachev just broke all records that the UFC has, I don't even know what they have. I think he's gonna find and break it too. This summer I think is gonna be one of the best summers for our team."

With Usman currently considering a switchover to the UFC, it will be interesting to watch if he can replicate Makhachev's success inside the octagon and bring more glory to Team Khabib.
