Complete fight breakdown, betting odds, and prediction for Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius ahead of upcoming showdown.

Erin Blanchfield goes head-to-head against Jasmine Jasudavicius on Oct. 17 at UFC Edmonton in an intense women's flyweight bout. Here's who's leading the dark-horse conversation and who is the underdog.

Erin Blanchfield Emerges as Massive Favourite Over Jasmine Jasudavicius

UFC Edmonton, headlined by Joaquin Buckley vs. Mike Malott for a welterweight clash, is stacked with matchups across multiple weight classes. In the co-main event, Blanchfield and Jasudavicius promise heated exchanges and an action-packed showdown, as both ladies attempt to strengthen their case for the title shot.

The No. 3 flyweight Erin Blanchfield is already leading the odds by a landslide at -300, per MMA Junkie. Meanwhile, Jasmine Jasudavicius is a massive +240 underdog. According to MMA Fighting, the clash appears even more tilted, with Blanchfield at -340 and Jasudavicius at +250.

'Cold Blooded' Blanchfield's resume puts this contrast truly into perspective. With only two upsets in her entire pro MMA career, the American has built a reputation for consistently pressuring her opponents and keeping them in a tight spot.

Since her UFC debut in 2021 against Sarah Alpar, Blanchfield has kept a clean slate. Although Manon Fiorot became the first to punctuate that rhythm with a unanimous decision, Cold Blooded has since bounced back with a decision win against Rose Namajunas and a submission over Tracy Cortez.

Canada's Jasmine Jasudavicius (ranked No. 6) holds an equally impressive resume, with a record of 15-4 in MMA and 9-3 in the UFC. 'The Vicious' also holds a recent loss to Manon Fiorot, albeit via KO/TKO at 1:14 of the first round. A UD victory over Karine Silva, however, has brought her back to the win column.

Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius: A Stylistic Comparison

While the matchup is not the typical striker vs. grappler saga, the flyweight bout still has a lot to offer in terms of matchmaking and how their styles play out. Both ladies hold the highest accolades in grappling, with primarily a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background.

Erin Blanchfield's style revolves around relentless pressure alongside wrestling against the cage to bring the fight to the ground. Cold Blooded is also known for her constant submission threats, picking up five victories in this manner.

Landing 5.24 significant strikes per minute while conceding 4.25 strikes highlights the American's willingness to trade blows from the pocket. Being a decade younger also adds to her edge, with analysts expecting Blanchfield to drive the pace of the game.

Jasudavicius brings a similar grappling-oriented approach to MMA. Averaging 2.63 takedown attempts every 15 minutes, the 37-year-old consistently keeps her opponents under threat. However, a poor takedown accuracy of three percent definitely puts an asterisk on that statistic.

With three first-round finishes in her career, Jasudavicius also has the tools to finish the fight in the blink of an eye. The Canadian also has a slight advantage in reach at 68 inches against Blanchfield's 66 inches.

While Blanchfield enters as the clear favourite, Jasudavicius could still disrupt her opponent’s grappling-heavy approach if she can impose her pressure early on and control the fight on the ground. Still, Cold Blooded will not make it easy for the Canadian to pull off an upset.
