Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius rescheduled for UFC Edmonton
The uncertainty surrounding the previously canceled Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius has been addressed with a rebooking for UFC Edmonton.
Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius was previously scheduled for UFC 330. Unfortunately, an injury suffered by Blanchfield led to its cancelation. Now the UFC has rebooked the women's flyweight bout for Oct 17. at UFC Edmonton, where they will serve as the co-main event.
Erin Blanchfield will be in enemy territory against Jasmine Jasudavicius
Erin Blanchfield was originally scheduled to take on Jasmine Jasudavicius at UFC 330, which will be headlined by Islam Makhachev's welterweight title defense against Ian Machado Garry. Unfortunately, an injury forced Blanchfield off the card. The initial disappointment for Jasudavicius, however, has been replaced by the opportunity to face Blanchfield on home soil, as their bout will now take place in Edmonton, Canada. As one of Canada's highest-profile UFC women's fighters, Jasudavicius will be eager to win in front of her countrymen.

A win over the #4 ranked Blanchfield would also be a step in the right direction for her, and would take her closer to the top of the women's flyweight division, where she is ranked #7. She recently rebounded from a UFC Fight Night 262 first-round TKO loss to Manon Fiorot, following the loss by beating Karine Silva via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 273. Meanwhile, Blanchfield is aiming to secure a women's flyweight title shot against the great Valentina Shevchenko, and is currently on a two-fight win streak. She defeated former two-time UFC women's strawweight champion Rose Namajunas via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 246. He followed that performance up by beating perennial top 10 women's flyweight Tracy Cortez, who she submitted in round two at UFC 322.
If she emerges victorious against Jasudavicius on Oct. 17, she could find herself next in line for a title shot. Besides Natalia Silva, who is undefeated in the UFC, Blanchfield is one of Shevchenko's likeliest opponents in the top five, as the #2 ranked Fiorot lost to Shevchenko relatively recently at UFC 315, as have the #3 Alexa Grasso and #5 Zhang Weili, both of whom lost to Shevchenko at UFC 306 and UFC 322 respectively. In fact, Blanchfield has been aiming to face Shevchenko for some time now, and will be determined to make her dream come true.
