DWCS 89, the third week of season 10 of DWCS, takes place Tuesday night. We look at this week's action!

DWCS 89, the third week of the 10th anniversary season of Dana White's Contender Series, is upon us. Through 10 fights at Meta Apex in Enterprise, NV, 10 fighters have secured a UFC contract as a direct result of appearing on DWCS, including six last week.

Although Tuesday night's card is only week three of the 10-week season, this week's crop of fighters know that the pressure will be on. Live coverage of DWCS 89 begins at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT.

Inside the United States, DWCS 89 will be streamed wall-to-wall via Paramount Plus.  As usual, five fights will be held inside the fabled Octagon at Meta Apex this Tuesday evening.

DWCS 89 Main Event: Bella Mir vs. Alex Apodaca: Legend's Daughter Takes Center Stage

At the top of the bill on Tuesday night, women's bantamweight action serves as the focus for the DWCS 89 main event. Bella Mir (4-0 MMA,) the daughter of Frank Mir, faces off against Alex Apodaca (3-1 MMA.) All DWCS fights are an advertised three rounds at five minutes per round.

Mir enters DWCS 89 having yet to lose as a professional MMA fighter. An alumna of Fury Fighting Championship's Challenger Series, she had her most-recent MMA contest in July of 2025, securing a third-round submission by way of kimura over Stephanie Calderon (2-1, 1 NC MMA) during Fury Challenger Series 14 from Houston.

Since that fight, Bella Mir has kept herself busy, competing in Real American Freestyle and UFC BJJ, holding an undefeated 3-0 record in the latter promotion. Will she secure a UFC deal in her fifth MMA contest?

Alex Apodaca With Quick Turnaround in DWCS 89 Main Event

Meanwhile, Alex Apodaca has gone 3-1 to begin her pro MMA career and she'll be coming in on short-notice to fight Bella Mir in DWCS 89 on Tuesday evening. On July 24, she scored a unanimous decision victory over Devon McDonald in Fury FC 122 from Westwego, LA.

By the time Tuesday's card begins, just 31 days will have passed between fights for Apodaca. With only a few short weeks to prepare for the contest, can Apodaca derail Bella Mir's bid at a UFC contract?

Tune into the DWCS 89 main event and find out.

DWCS 89 Co-Main Event: Mario Piazzon vs. Guilherme Uriel: Piazzon Hoping for Contract in Second DWCS Appearance

Immediately beforehand, the heavyweights do battle in the DWCS 89 main event when Mario Piazzon (10-1 MMA, 1-0 DWCS) meets Guilherme Uriel (7-2 MMA, 1-1 DWCS.) This is the second fight on Contender Series for both men.

Piazzon enters his sophomore DWCS appearance having posted a 4-1 record in his last five MMA fights. At the moment, he's on a two-fight winning streak.

On March 20, he scored a unanimous decision victory against Andre Vieira (9-5 MMA) in a rematch of a 2024 contest during Shooto Brasil 135. This was Vieira's third loss in a row.

Piazzon has already won in the past on Contender Series. During the 2023 DWCS season, he fought Alexander Soldatkin (18-4 MMA, 0-1 DWCS,) getting his hand raised in victory by way of disqualification after the latter landed an illegal knee.

Tuesday night, Piazzon hopes for a clean win in his return appearance.

Guilherme Uriel Seeks to Avenge Loss to Hokit During DWCS 89 Co-Main Event

Across the way, Guilherme Uriel has gone 3-2 in his last five fights. Uriel, an alumnus of the LFA, makes a return visit to DWCS after securing a first-round knockout victory over Leonardo Fraga (2-3 MMA, 0-1 DWCS) back in March during LFA 229.

Uriel fought on DWCS last season against Josh Hokit (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC,) with the latter scoring a second-round knockout by way of elbows. While his opponent from last season has already fought four times in the UFC, Guilherme Uriel is still waiting for his chance to break into the promotion.

Expect Uriel to fight with frustration in Tuesday's co-main event.

DWCS 89: Gary Balleto Jr. vs. Sean Clancy Jr.: Balleto Makes MMA Return After 16 1/2 Months

Also on DWCS 89, welterweights make the walk to the fabled Octagon for a battle between Gary Balleto Jr. (11-3 MMA,) a former CES MMA Welterweight Champion, and Sean Clancy Jr. (8-0 MMA,) a veteran of Cage Warriors. The former will be making the walk on the strength of a 4-1 record in his last five MMA outings.

In April of 2025, he successfully defended the CES MMA Welterweight Championship for the second time with a second-round knockout (punches) of William Dunkle in CES 80's main event from Cranston, RI. Since then, Balleto turned his atttention to bare-knuckle boxing in BKFC.

He's fought three matches under bare-knuckle boxing rules, with all three fights ending in knockout victories. Does Balleto's MMA return end in him earning a UFC contract?

Sean Clancy Jr. Looking to Go From Cage Warriors to UFC

In the other corner, Sean Clancy Jr., formerly the Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion, still has yet to taste defeat in MMA. Last December, he stopped Melvin van Suijdam (16-8 MMA) to capture the title during Cage Warriors 199.

An April 25 fight between Clancy and Justin Burlinson, due to headline Cage Warriors 205, was canceled just hours before the fighters were to make the walk upon Burlinson sustaining a cut.

Clancy is on an undefeated run heading into DWCS 89. Whenever a fighter is on a hot streak, as Sean Clancy is right now, he can be dangerous on any given fight night.

Rest of the Card

Two other fights round out DWCS 89 on Tuesday night, a welterweight contest between Ronald Humphrey (4-0 MMA) and Alexis Miranda (9-2 MMA) and a middleweight bout pairing Carlos Petruzzela (15-1 MMA) against Nick Galanti (7-1 MMA.)
