Frank Mir's daughter Bella Mir booked for Dana White's Contender Series

Bella Mir is one step closer to following in her father's footsteps. The daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir is set to compete on Dana White's Contender Series on Aug. 25, where she will face Alex Apodaca in Week 3 of Season 10, according to theMMAmatchmaker. The undefeated prospect will have the opportunity to earn a UFC contract if she impresses Dana White.

Bella Mir Gets Contender Series Opportunity

A professional fighter since 2020, Bella Mir is undefeated in her career, having won all four of her professional fights. Like her father, Mir has her roots in grappling, as evidenced by her last three MMA victories, all of which came by first-round submission.

At 23 years old, the American is an NCAA wrestling champion and has also competed in jiu-jitsu, including an appearance at UFC BJJ 9, where she defeated her opponent by submission.

Bella Mir Following in Dad's Footsteps

As the daughter of a former UFC champion, it's no surprise that Bella Mir grew up on the mats. However, her father initially did not want her to pursue a career in MMA before ultimately accepting her decision. Frank Mir eventually granted her daughter's wish on one condition: She would have to focus on her studies before dedicating herself fully to MMA.

As for her opponent, Apodaca enters the matchup with a 3-1 professional record and a three-fight winning streak, setting up a significant test for Mir as she looks to earn her place in the UFC.
