DWCS 89: How to Watch and Full Fight Card

The third episode of the 10th anniversary season of  Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS 89) is upon us. In the main event, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu star Bella Mir attempts to score a contract with the UFC when she battles Alex Apodaca. Before that, prospective heavyweights come to blows, with Guilherme Uriel taking on Mario Piazzon.

Undefeated in mixed martial arts, Mir has gained international recognition for her time in the sport, as well as a stellar 3-0 run in UFC BJJ. Touting an immaculate well-rounded tool set, “Lady” is ready to take the next step in her career by snatching a spot on the UFC’s roster.

Currently enjoying a three-bout win streak, Apodaca has proven to be a burgeoning prospect on the regional circuit. In the main event of DWCS 89, the factoryX Muay Thai product will settle for nothing but a show-stopping promotion.

Rebounding from the first loss of his career with two consecutive victories, Piazzon has risen up from the competitive Brazilian mixed martial arts scene, notably winning the Demo Fights heavyweight strap and defending it twice. Faltering once on the Contender Series in 2023, “The Shark” is hungry to finally prove himself as a budding company hopeful.

Getting the call to fight on the Contender Series last year, Uriel had the major task of combating current 265-lb contender Josh Hokit, losing to the American by knockout. Netting another win at LFA 229 last March, “Urso” is prepared for a coveted second chance for a UFC contract.
