DWCS 89 Weigh-Ins: Perfect Session, Mir Hits Target for Headliner

DWCS 89, the third week of Dana White's Contender Series' 10th season, is almost here. Tuesday night, 10 more competitors vie for a spot on the UFC's active roster by way of the midweek MMA promotion.
Live coverage of DWCS 89 begins tomorrow at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT. Inside the United States of America, DWCS 89 can be seen from start to finish on Paramount Plus. As is customary, five fights will be held inside the newly-renovated Meta Apex in Enterprise, NV.
Before the fighters booked to appear on tomorrow night's event could head to the fabled Octagon to compete for a UFC contract, they first needed to face a different adversary, the scale. Earlier today, the official weigh-in window for DWCS 89 took place at the fighters' hotel.
Bella Mir Hits Target for DWCS 89 Main Event
The daughter of MMA royalty takes center stage in the main attraction of DWCS 89 on Tuesday night. Bella Mir (136 lbs,) Frank Mir's daughter, came in exactly at the bantamweight nontitle maximum for her main event encounter versus Alex Apodaca (135 1/2 lbs.) All fights on DWCS 89 are three rounds at five minutes per round, main event included.
Heavyweights Tip Scales Without Issue Ahead of DWCS 89
Heavyweight action serves as the focus of DWCS 89's co-main event. Returning contenders Mario Piazzon (238 lbs,) who won by way of disqualification in his first appearance in 2023, and Guilherme Uriel (241 1/2 lbs,) who lost to Josh Hokit last year on the show, get a second opportunity at a UFC deal.
