Conor McGregor questions Max Holloway's training camp strategy.

After more than a decade of anticipation, the long-awaited rematch between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway is finally around the corner. With UFC 329 set for July 11, both former champions have entered the final phase of their preparations, but the mind games are already well underway.

Holloway recently grabbed attention by bringing former UFC Welterweight Champion Jack Della Maddalena into camp to help simulate McGregor's size and striking. While many viewed it as a smart tactical move, “The Notorious” appears completely unfazed, insisting neither Holloway nor his decorated sparring partner will be enough to prepare for what's waiting inside the Octagon.

Conor McGregor Dismisses Max Holloway’s Latest JDM Training Collab

The Hawaiian’s decision to enlist Jack Della Maddalena was a no-brainer. After spending an eternity at featherweight and lightweight, "Blessed" is preparing for his first UFC appearance at welterweight against one of the division's hardest hitters.

Bringing in Della Maddalena gives Holloway the chance to train with someone who carries the size and boxing style he'll have to deal with against McGregor. Recent videos from camp showed the former welterweight champion putting Holloway through striking rounds as the latter continues sharpening his game ahead of UFC 329.

McGregor, however, wasn't impressed. Speaking about Holloway's camp, the Irish superstar brushed aside the significance of training with Della Maddalena and questioned whether the sessions could prepare his longtime rival for the intensity he'll face this weekend.

Conor McGregor Goes Off on Max Holloway's Training Regimen

He said, "That's not gonna cut it. Not bad choice, why not. I've seen the little Pity Pat Mickey Mouse Club training. It looks like teen amateur f***ing, not on the level… It's not going to cut it for the ferocity that will be before him in the octagon as well as the array of weaponry. So, there you go, both can get it."

If anything, the remarks are vintage McGregor, mixing confidence with his trademark trash talk. Rather than giving Holloway credit for seeking elite preparation, the former two-division champion made it clear he believes neither Holloway nor JDM can replicate the storm he is about to unleash inside the cage.

Conor McGregor Says He’s Studied Holloway “Very Meticulously”

While the verbal jabs grabbed headlines, McGregor also revealed there's plenty of serious work behind the scenes. According to the former UFC champion, his confidence isn't built on chivalry alone but on countless hours spent breaking down Holloway's game.

McGregor believes he has identified openings in Holloway's game that he intends to exploit, notingthat he's prepared for every phase of the fight -

"I've analyzed this boy very meticulously, very deeply, and I'm fully prepared. I'm excited to maneuver my way through him, that's it. I see loads of tells. And also, I will stand in there with this boy and let go. So, I'm confident all across the board."

Two Very Different Fighters Collide in UFC 329 Main Event

In hindsight, the rematch carries a vastly different storyline from their first meeting in 2013. Back then, Holloway was a 21-year-old prospect still finding his footing in the UFC, while McGregor was beginning his meteoric rise through the featherweight division.

More than a decade later, both men are established stars with championship resumes, making their second meeting one of the most anticipated fights of the year.

For Holloway, bringing in Della Maddalena reflects a calculated attempt to prepare for McGregor's physicality at welterweight. As for McGregor, it's simply another storyline that won't change what he believes is inevitable.
