DWCS 88 Weigh-In Results: Another Drama-Free Monday Morning on Scales
DWCS 88's official weigh-in window took place on Monday morning. We bring you up to speed on what happened on the scales today.
DWCS 88 is almost here. Tuesday night, the renovated Meta Apex in Enterprise, NV serves as the setting for the second week of season 10 of Dana White's Contender Series. Live coverage of DWCS 88 begins at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT.
Stateside, DWCS 88, as well as all remaining DWCS events, will be streamed via Paramount Plus. Earlier Monday morning, the official weigh-in window for tomorrow night's event took place at the fighters' hotel, serving as the next step toward a potential UFC contract for the 10 fighters booked to appear on tomorrow's show.
Last week's weigh-in window saw all 10 contestants hit their prescribed weight without issue on the scale. Going into Monday's weigh-ins, this week's crop of fighters hoped to do the same.
All Fights Locked In After Perfect Session Ahead of DWCS 88
Every fighter booked to appear on DWCS 88 made weight Monday morning, with a few fighters coming in under the target. This includes the fighters appearing in the main event of the evening.
Kaik Brito (169 1/2 lbs,) who will be among the five fighters making their second appearance on DWCS this week, came in 1 1/2 lbs under the 171-lb nontitle maximum for welterweight competitors ahead of his bout versus Namo Fazil (169 1/2 lbs.) As with all Contender Series fights, this one is an advertised maximum of three rounds at five minutes per round.
Your co-main event of the evening at DWCS 88 will take place in the middleweight division. Douglas Rodrigues (183 1/2 lbs) had no trouble making weight for his bout against the returning Trent Miller (185 1/2 lbs.)
Rodrigues clocked in at 2 1/2 lbs under the 186-lb middleweight nontitle maximum, with Miller weighing-in half of a pound under the target. Miller is making his second Contender Series appearance in as many years on Tuesday, looking to avenge a loss to Ryan Gandra from last season.
