Josh Hokit Comes Up with Surprising Take on Tom Aspinall’s Injury
Josh Hokit recently stated that Tom Aspinall might be using his eye injury as an excuse to get out of his contract.
Tom Aspinall became the UFC Heavyweight Champion after a long back-and-forth with Jon Jones. His reign as the title holder fell flat following his eye injury.
In a recent announcement, Aspinall confirmed that he will be vacating the belt to get his eyes properly checked. However, fellow heavyweight contender Josh Hokit does not seem to buy the story. Instead, he has come up with a theory of his own.

Hokit recently sat down for an interview with Ariel Helwani. Analyzing Aspinall’s situation, the 10-0 star stated that the English fighter might be trying to get out of his UFC contract. He said, “I think he has his teammates fa**ing on his pillow, and then he goes to sleep gets pink eye and posts that sh*t on Instagram. I think he's just trying to get out of his deal. That sh*ts all fake gang. I think he's tryna get that bag in boxing.”
Aspinall defended his belt against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321. While a lot of UFC fans expected the champion to retain, an eye poke resulted in the bout being called off as a no-contest. Since then, Aspinall hasn't returned to the octagon yet. While he did point out that he was back to training, the former champion is now nursing his injuries as fans wait for his comeback.
Meanwhile, ahead of his all-important bout against Gane, Michael Bisping reflected on Hokit’s strengths.

Hokit is relatively new to the UFC. Yet, his performance in recent bouts has been quite impressive. Now, trying to eye the ultimate prize, the challenge of Ciryl Gane looks a tad difficult. According to Bisping, it won’t be a walk in the park for Gane either.
Reflecting on Hokit’s fighting style, the former UFC star said, “Now, Josh Hokit goes forward, throws kind of recklessly, but because of his takedown threat, because of his speed, because of his output, because of the constant forward momentum, he catches a lot of people.”
As Hokit will lock horns with Gane for the heavyweight title, fans will be eager to find out who wins.
