Luis Francischinelli Overcomes Family Challenges and Injuries to Secure UFC Contract

Luis Francischinelli overcomes injuries, family challenges, and the birth of his daughter to earn a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Luis Francischinelli’s path to the UFC has been quite the adventure. After four years of relentless dedication and a grueling fight camp, the Brazilian fighter finally made his dream a reality by landing a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS).
His coach took to Instagram to share the exciting news, posting an emotional tribute to a night filled with success for the team, which celebrated a 2-0 record in their fights, even though it was only Francischinelli who walked away with a UFC contract.
Luis Francischinelli’s Journey From Kickboxer to UFC Fighter
Reflecting on Francischinelli’s development, his coach revealed that the fighter joined his gym four years ago with limited grappling experience and a dream of competing in the UFC.
“Four years later, seven knockouts and a complete transformation into a well-rounded MMA fighter, he earned his UFC contract!” the coach wrote.
However, the road to the milestone was filled with adversity. He faced injuries, welcomed the birth of his daughter, and tackled some unexpected hurdles at home while preparing for his training camp. Even with all these reasons to step back, he pushed through and put on the kind of performance that earned him a spot in the UFC.
“He had every reason not to fight, but he pushed through it all,” his coach added. “Tonight he showed what it means to be a true champion, both inside the cage and in life.”
Coach Celebrates Team’s Success on DWCS
The celebrations didn’t just stop at Francischinelli’s big win; his teammate Erick Visconde also received a lot of well-deserved recognition for his performance. Visconde went up against an undefeated kickboxing champion and put on what his coach called a “grappling masterclass,” even though he didn’t walk away with a UFC contract.
The coach emphasized that the decision did not diminish Visconde’s performance or potential, promising to continue working toward his UFC opportunity.
“NOTHING CHANGES. FOLLOW THE PLAN,” the coach wrote, highlighting the team’s commitment to its long-term goals.
For Francischinelli, though, that night was the pinnacle of four years filled with hard work, sacrifice, and resilience. His UFC contract isn’t just a professional milestone; it’s a testament to his ability to rise above personal challenges when it mattered most.
