Movsar Evloev hints at potential title fight this summer

Movsar Evloev has generated hype for his next fight, which remains unannounced, by alluding to a long-awaited championship opportunity finally coming his way.
Movsar Evloev has long been campaigning for a crack at the UFC featherweight title. While the promotion has not yet made any announcements regarding reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski's next fight, the unbeaten Russian contender has taken to X with a claim that may have identified him as the next 145-pound title challenger.
Movsar Evloev plans to return at the end of summer
In his latest X post, Movsar Evloev alluded to being Alexander Volkanovski's next title challenger, claiming that he will be announced as, 'and new,' this summer, which is often used to denote the crowning of a new champion after the end of a title fight. In short, Evloev is implying that he will dethrone Volkanovski in his next fight, having said the following on social media:
"I am back, end of summer, and new, Inshallah."
I am back, end of the summer, and new Inshallah.

Evloev has been intent on fighting for the featherweight title for some time now. He is undefeated at 20-0, having beaten a tough string of opponents in Diego Lopes, Arnold Allen, Aljamain Sterling, and Lerone Murphy. Lopes is a two-time featherweight title challenger and one of the most dynamic fighters in the division, while Allen is frequently in the upper echelon of the top 10's first-half. Sterling is a former bantamweight champion and widely regarded as one of the greatest bantamweights of all time, who has made a successful transition to featherweight. Murphy, however, was Evloev's toughest opponent.
Both men were undefeated when they faced each other, but after a closely-contested affair at UFC Fight Night 270, it was Evloev who had his hand raised with a majority decision win. Now ranked #1 at featherweight, with the three of the top five having losses to him, he is in prime position to be named the number one contender. For Volkanovski, Evloev represents a difficult stylistic matchup not seen since he faced Islam Makhachev at lightweight. However, it's a bout that the Australian star has called for in the past, as he is eager to clean out the division and establish himself as the definitive featherweight GOAT, while handing Evloev his first professional loss.
