Rodolfo Vieira celebrates UFC Vegas 121 win after 37th birthday

Rodolfo Vieira returned to the win column at UFC Vegas 121 with a unanimous decision victory over Robert Bryczek on Saturday. The multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion defeated the Polish fighter 30-27 on all three scorecards, snapping his two-fight losing streak just one day after celebrating his 37th birthday.

Rodolfo Vieira Expected a Closer Fight

Facing a striker with several knockout finishes on his record, Vieira entered the matchup with a clear strategy to nullify his opponent's game. The Brazilian was able to control much of the fight using his grappling and positional pressure, although he could not find a submission.

However, even though he was confident his strategy had worked against Bryczek, Vieira admitted after the fight that he thought the judges might score the bout more narrowly. Speaking to Ag Fight, the Brazilian said Bryczek landed several hard punches during the fight and that he had been preparing for a submission rather than a decision.

"I thought I was going to win 2-1 because he put a lot of pressure on me and landed some hard shots to my head," Vieira said. "But I'm glad I got the unanimous decision. It wasn't the way I wanted to win because I trained to get the submission, but any victory is welcome. It was my birthday yesterday."

The victory improves Vieira's professional record to 12-5 and marks his first UFC victory since defeating Tresean Gore by unanimous decision in August 2025.

The timing of the victory made the moment even more meaningful for Vieira. The Brazilian explained that his birthday came the day after his weight cut, allowing him to celebrate with his family before stepping into the Octagon.

"I couldn't ask for a better gift," Vieira said. "Juliana and Benício came to spend my birthday with me, so we're going to celebrate both my 37th birthday and this victory."

Back in the win column, Vieira will now look to build new momentum in the UFC's middleweight division after overcoming one of the toughest stretches of his career.
