Sean Strickland’s White House UFC Stunt Backfires As Security Removes Him From Fan Fest

UFC’s middleweight king Sean Strickland has never been one to stay away from the spotlight, and he made no exception during the organization’s biggest spectacle, the Freedom 250 weekend at the White House.
Sean Strickland Ousted From Fan Fest After Unexpected Crowd Surge
Strickland's presence at the UFC Fan Fest on The Ellipse quickly attracted attention from attendees on Sunday evening after the 35-year-old apparently snuck his way in. According to the United States Park Police, a large number of fans gathered around the champion shortly after his arrival at about 7 P.M., two hours before the main card even began, prompting security personnel to intervene.
In a statement to ESPN, authorities said Strickland's unexpected appearance caused disorder in the crowd.
“The unplanned presence of Sean Strickland drew significant attention from attendees, resulting in disorder. Due to concerns for Strickland's safety and the safety of event patrons, personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Park Police, and other assisting agencies evacuated him safely from the area.”
Videos circulating on social media showed Strickland surrounded by fans before being escorted away by multiple security officers.
Despite successfully making his way into the venue and even stepping inside a WWE ring that had been set up for fans, Strickland's visit was short-lived. Security personnel quickly intervened and escorted the UFC champion out of the event.
Although he was not arrested, Strickland later suggested he could face a disorderly conduct charge, a Class B misdemeanour in Washington, D.C., that carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail, a $500 fine, or both.
Authorities later confirmed that Strickland was transported back to his hotel without incident. They also noted that he was advised not to return to the venue for his own safety and the safety of others.
Strickland jokes about his shenanigans and thanks fans for support
Following his removal, Strickland took to Instagram to address the situation with his signature bravado.
The outspoken champion joked that he may have been cited for disorderly conduct while thanking supporters who had followed him throughout the week.
In a video posted on his official handle, Strickland said, “I may have been charged with disorderly conduct. I don't know what that is, but it sounds cool. Anyways, I just want to thank you fans. I can’t thank you guys enough. After being banned, you guys riding, supporting me, it means a lot to me.”
However, authorities later clarified that no such action had been taken. "Strickland was neither cited nor arrested in connection with the incident," the Park Police said in a follow-up statement.
Despite being escorted out, Strickland appeared to view the episode as another memorable chapter in a week in which he repeatedly inserted himself into the Freedom 250 festivities.
In a separate Instagram post featuring a photo of security personnel leading him away, Strickland wrote, "Sorry you guys. We almost made it! Promise one day we will set up a circle and box. Thanks for your support."
Although his stay at the Fan Fest lasted only a few minutes, it was long enough to spark a conversation, most importantly during an already eventful UFC White House weekend.
