UFC 327 Main Event: Vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship: No. 2 Contender Jiri Prochazka vs. No. 3 Contender Carlos Ulberg

Barring any late adjustments to Saturday’s schedule, you’ll have 12 fights to enjoy this coming weekend, including a light heavyweight showdown at the top of the bill. The UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, most recently held by “Poatan,” Alex Pereira, will be officially vacated as of Saturday night.

No. 2 contender Jiri Prochazka (32-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will seek to begin his second reign as light heavyweight titlist against No. 3 contender Carlos Ulberg (13-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC.) This title fight is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close the show.

Prochazka, who formerly held the championship in 2022 but could not defend the belt because of injury, has posted a record of 3-2 in his last five fights. Heading into UFC 327, he’s won two fights in a row.

Last October, he finished off Khalil Rountree Jr. (14-7, 1 NC MMA, 10-7, 1 NC UFC) with a left hook inside the third round in UFC 320. He’s approaching a notable family milestone in the coming days.

Prochazka enters fight week awaiting the birth of his daughter, with the due date set for Monday. This is a man who’s got extra motivation to win this week, but can he bring home a victory before his baby enters the world?

Meanwhile, Carlos Ulberg comes into Saturday’s UFC 327 main event on the strength of an undefeated mark of 5-0 in his last five fights. All told, he’s presently on a tear, having won nine fights in succession.

Back on Sept. 27, he stopped Dominick Reyes (15-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC,) who will also be appearing on UFC 327, with a jab followed by a right cross inside the opening round. This is a man who had hoped to fight Alex Pereira before “Poatan” moved up to the heavyweight ranks, and he said earlier this week that a fight with Pereira could still happen in the future.

What’ll happen on Saturday? Only time will tell.

UFC 327 Co-Main Event: No. 6 Contender Azamat Murzakanov vs. No. 14 (MW) Contender Paulo Costa

More light heavyweight action takes place in the co-main event. The second of three light heavyweight fights on the UFC 327 main card pits No. 6 contender Azamat Murzakanov (16-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) against No. 14 middleweight contender Paulo Costa (15-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC.) This is a three-round fight at five minutes per round.

Murzakanov has yet to lose in his career. Back on Oct. 25, he scored a first-round knockout (power jab) of Aleksandr Rakic (14-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC.)

With Murzakanov fighting in the co-main event and with a light heavyweight title fight in the UFC 327 main event, Saturday’s fight brings with it the highest stakes to date in his MMA career.

A victory here means he could be one win away from fighting for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in the future. Meanwhile, Paulo Costa is the next man who’s been assigned with trying to stop Murzakanov’s winning streak.

He’s gone 2-3 in his last five fights. Last July, he bested Roman Kopylov (14-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) by way of unanimous decision in a rebooking of a fight from June 28. Costa was already supposed to have made his 2026 UFC debut on March 7 before withdrawing from his contest with Brunno Ferreira for unknown reasons.

Will Costa drop Murzakanov from the ranks of the unbeaten? Tune in and find out.

UFC 327: No. 5 Contender Curtis Blaydes vs. Josh Hokit

Also on the UFC 327 main card, the heavyweights do battle for a fight matching No. 5 contender Curtis Blaydes (19-5, 1 NC MMA, 14-5, 1 NC UFC) and Josh Hokit (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC.) “Razor” will be making the walk Saturday night having posted a 3-2 record in his five latest outings.

Last June, during UFC Baku, he secured a split decision win over Rizvan Kuniev (14-3-1, 1 NC MMA, 1-1 UFC) in a rebooking of a twice-postponed fight from earlier in 2025. Blaydes is a man who hasn’t fought in almost 10 months, but his opponent in the other corner has proven himself to be a buzzsaw in his budding UFC career.

Josh Hokit has yet to taste defeat thus far as a professional. He’ll be making a quick turnaround for his second fight of 2026, as on Jan. 24, he made short work of Denzel Freeman (7-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC), winning by way of first-round TKO (retirement.)

Although Hokit’s UFC tenure is still in its earliest days, a win over a luminary like Blaydes would certainly build his resume.

Rest of the Card

The UFC 327 main card is rounded out by a light heavyweight fight between the aforementioned Dominick Reyes and Johnny Walker (22-9, 1 NC MMA, 8-6, 1 NC UFC) and a featherweight contest versing Cub Swanson (30-14 MMA, 15-10 UFC) against Nate Landwehr (18-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC.)

Win or lose, Swanson’s 45th MMA appearance will be his final one, as he’ll be retiring with this contest at UFC 327. Which fights are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments.
