Evloev has responded to Volkanovski’s comments about their potential matchup, making it clear he isn’t worried about Volk’s takedown defense or striking. The 32-year-old says he believes he can take ‘The Great’ down whenever he wants and control the fight on the ground. During his recent interview with Mike Bohn, he said:
"I will do anything I want. Whenever I decide to take him down, I will take him down, and I’m not scared of his striking skills either. Even if I need to take him down 100 times even if I need to take him down every second, I will do it, and nobody will stop me there."
He even claimed that if he has to take him down multiple times, he will keep doing it even if his game plan didn’t work. This fight is definitely going to be a high-level, intense battle, as both fighters are very skilled and will put their 100% into training.
Alexander Volkanovski Begins Brutal Grappling Training Ahead Of Movsar Evloev Fight
In a recent video put out by Volkanovski, he has been seen putting himself through a tough training routine to prepare for Movsar Evloev’s grappling. He does 15 one-minute rounds, starting each round in a difficult position while fresh training partners rotate in against him.
