UFC Star Anshul Jubli Dismisses the Doubters With a Bold Prediction for Indian MMA

Anshul Jubli has brushed aside the doubts surrounding Indian MMA, backing the country’s fighters to make a strong impact on the global stage in the coming years.
A theory has been floating around the internet for years that India has no fighting genes. So far, Puja Tomar is the only Indian fighter to win a fight after signing with the UFC. Fighters like Owais Yaqoob and others are building their reputations outside the promotion, but the notion hasn't really gone away. Now Indian star Anshul Jubli has made a big prediction. He says the country needs just three more years to produce a breakout UFC star.
Anshul Jubli Backs India to Rise From MMA Underdogs to Global Contenders in 3 Years
Recently, in conversation with Full Violence’s Shiv Patel, Jubli said India already has what it takes: good wrestlers and boxers. He pointed to the kids who are 13 and 14 years old and already training MMA in the country, calling them hungry and talented. The ‘King of Lions’ also reminded that India has some of the best wrestlers in the world, including wrestling world champions, and that this gives the country the combat mindset it needs.
Jubli stated, “I would say three years. India has everything like we have very good wrestlers, very hungry fighters. You see now the kids who are who are like 13, 14 years old, they are training in MMA training MMA in India. They are very hungry, very talented. We have the best wrestlers in the world. Yeah, they have they are world champ wrestling world champions from India. So that combat mindset, combat, you know. So we have everything.”
For those who don't know, India already has a wrestler in Sujeet Kalkal who is dominating at the world level. In boxing, Nishant Dev keeps stacking up wins, and that run has even led Eddie Hearn to back him. MMA is a different story. It's still a new sport for a country of 1.4 billion people. Jubli, though, believes that in three years the breakout star will arrive.
