Anshul Jubli has a message for Indian MMA fans after recent UFC setbacks, urging them to stay patient and continue backing the country’s fighters as they chase success on the global stage.
Indian fighters have become a meme online after Anshul Jubli was knocked out in 19 seconds by Quillian Salkild. But plenty of fighters have been finished much faster than that, so one loss isn't a fair way to judge anyone. The Indian star now has a message for the doubters. He says he will bounce back from the losses, and fans will see him win.
Anshul Jubli Vows to Bounce Back After Back-to-Back UFC Setbacks
Jubli believes the next three years will look very different. He expects India to produce more skilled fighters who can compete at the highest level, and he expects to start winning more fights himself and show everyone what he can do. For now, his focus is on sharpening his game and proving the doubters wrong with his performances inside the cage.
“I promise you, brother, I promise you, you'll see in just in 3 years you'll see so much growth so many good excellent fighters. You'll see me winning, and you'll be like now talk,” Jubli said.
In the same interview, Jubli said he feels India has everything a fighting nation needs: strong wrestling, strong boxing and a combat sports mindset. In his view, it's only a matter of three years before Indian stars are dominating on the world stage. He expects to be part of that rise too, getting back on the winning track and beating opponent after opponent.
Anshul Jubli Will Be Back In December
N3on asked Jubli on his live stream how long he has been in Vegas, and Jubli said two to three months. When N3on followed up on how much longer he plans to stay, the ‘King of Lions’ said he wants to get back in the octagon and is aiming to fight in December. “I'm hoping to get a fight in December,” he said.
Jubli hasn't fought since the 19-second knockout loss to Quillan Salkilld at UFC 312. He is the only active male Indian fighter in the UFC right now. Indeed, winning the upcoming fight is really important for him as it is a chance for him to earn the contract back.
