Shir Cohen had been positioned for a chance at the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship earlier in 2025. However, an injury forced her out of the opportunity. Healthy again, Cohen is back in the contender’s seat against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues at ONE Fight Night 32 on Friday, June 6.
Shir Cohen Discusses Road Back to Title Shot June 6
Shir Cohen opened up to ONE Championship about the roadblocks she has suffered en route to the golden chance. While she continues to deal with issues, she is focused on becoming Israel’s first-ever ONE World Champion. Still, getting to this moment has not been an easy ride.

“Life has been very complex since then. In the last seven months, I’ve been injured. I’ve been recovering. I’ve been dealing with some challenges back home in Israel with my family. So many things happened, and I think this was one of the hardest times of my life,” Shir Cohen stated to ONE.
Shir Cohen Stayed Ready
After losing her first shot at the gold, Shir Cohen admitted she expected to lose her top contender’s spot. Still, she kept herself in peak condition so that she could take advantage of any opportunity that came her way. When she got the call, it was an easy answer to take on the division’s dominant queen.
“At first, I thought that there’s gonna be maybe more fights. But I was also ready for a championship fight in my mind,” the Israeli talent said.
Rodrigues has stood atop the division since she arrived. In her debut, she dethroned Stamp Fairtex to take the gold. After reviewing all of her opponent’s tape, Cohen knows the task ahead is the most difficult of her career.
“Rodrigues is very technical and very smart, and her Muay Thai weapons are very good. She’s very experienced as well. She is more experienced than me, especially under Muay Thai rules. And she’s very good and very strong,” the atomweight challenger said.
Shir Cohen Galvanized by Past Fairtex vs. Rodrigues Fight
Cohen trains alongside Stamp at Fairtex Training Center. While there is no official rivalry with Rodrigues, the 24-year-old is proud to represent her team in this match. Given the past result between Stamp and Rodrigues, Shir Cohen is given a little extra motivation to reclaim the title for the camp.
“I don’t feel pressure. It gives me more motivation because if I can get this for Stamp and for the team, I will feel proud of myself,” Cohen commented.
Shir Cohen Can Take on Any Opponent
Cohen’s ascent may have surprised many, but her skills have proven her ability to compete with anyone in the division. The confidence she has will play a pivotal role in going toe-to-toe with the Brazilian. Shir Cohen is relying on her training to dethrone the current queen and wear the crown as summer comes along.
“My footwork and my boxing [are my biggest advantages]. I will try to use them. I want to win. It doesn’t matter how or what way. I will just see when we’re in there. You know, I’m not different than other fighters. I’m not special, but I just work hard, and I give my heart and try my best. I have a big goal inside of me, and I have to achieve this goal. I have to,” Cohen described.
ONE Fight Night 32 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, June 6. The action begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
