A welterweight bout has been added to this summer’s UFC on FOX 16, as Ben Saunders is set to square off with Kenny Robertson.
UFC officials announced the matchup on Friday evening.
Saunders (18-6-2) made his return to the promotion last August, and stopped Chris Heatherly via omoplata, which earned ‘Submission of the Year’ for 2014. In his latest outing, he stopped Joe Riggs via TKO at UFC on FOX 13 in December.
Robertson (15-3) knocked out Sultan Aliev in his latest outing at UFC on FOX 14 this past January. The 31-year old picked up a decision win over Ildemar Alcantara at UFC 175 last summer.
The card placement for the bout is unknown at this time.
UFC on FOX 16 takes place live from the United Center in Chicago, IL on July 25. In the main event, bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw defends his belt against Renan Barao.
