Carlos Prates has sent a warning to Michael Morales that he will knock him out if the two ever face off.

Following UFC 330, the welterweight division has been on the lips of every fan and media member alike. Islam Makhachev is the hunted at 170lbs but questions are naturally being asked: who's next?

Will it be Carlos Prates? Could it be Michael Morales? Does Shavkat Rakhmonov deserve a shot if he returns?

The Brazilian, Prates, wants to be next, and if he gets the shot and wins, he's already talking about who he could face in his first title defence.

Carlos Prates Talks First Title Defence

Talking after UFC 330, Carlos Prates spoke to Champions Collection and was told that fellow contender Morales was scared of fighting him.

He went on to send a stern warning to Morales and predict how the fight could play out, envisaging a first-round knockout in his favour.

"He said I’m scared about him? I’m not scared to fight you. I’m No. 1 contender, so I wanna fight for the belt. UFC never offered the fight against you. If they offer me, of course I would knock you out really fast. First round, so don’t worry. You’re gonna fight and I’m gonna knock you out.”

He doubled down on the prediction, stating, "After I get my belt, I'll knock you out".

Prates' Strong Title Push

Carlos Prates is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining fighters on the entire roster. He's flashy, marketable, highly skilled and above all else, immensely talented.

Bursting onto the UFC scene, many were surprised that he didn't immediately get a shot in the UFC. He recorded five straight knockouts prior to getting his opportunity on the Contender Series and took his chance with both hands.

Mitch Ramirez was the lamb to the slaughter and in two rounds, Prates earned himself a UFC contract.

Four straight knockout victories extended his finishing streak to nine, but Prates ran into Ian Machado Garry on short notice and his winning streak was snapped.

It didn't dishearten him at all, three straight performance of the night winning knockouts have seen him catapult back into the title picture in a big way.
