Jose Delgado Releases Statement after Noche UFC Loss to Jean Silva
After losing his first UFC main event to Jean Silva at Noche UFC, Jose Delgado has released a statement on Instagram.
The fairytale wasn't to be for Jose Delgado this past weekend as he was submitted in the third round by Jean Silva.
After a strange first round which saw Jean Silva stand in-front of Delgado, not throw many strikes, suffer a knockdown and ultimately confuse everyone watching the fight, the real fight began in round two. This round saw competitive exchanges, but it was certainly the more experienced Jean Silva who got the better of proceedings.
The final round saw Silva take over the fight and ultimately lock in a rear-naked choke to score the win over the late-notice step-in opponent, Jose Delgado.
Jose Delgado Reacts to Noche UFC Loss
Taking to Instagram, Delgado said:
"Well sh*t so it goes. Dared to be great yesterday and came up short. But man I loved every second of being on that stage with high level opposition, that includes the heartbreaking pain of failure. Pure freedom. Insert something cliche about bouncing back here. Thank you to God for His guidance and my village for backing me. Also thanks to everyone in that arena for making that walk what it was. Love yall".
There's little denying that Delgado will get better as a result of his performance against Silva. He's still young in the game at 28-years-old with a record of 12-3.
The UFC will favour him going forwards as he stepped in on relatively short notice to save the Noche UFC main event.
Elsewhere at Noche UFC
In the co-main event, former flyweight champion, Brandon Moreno bounced back from two consecutive losses to win a split decision over Joseph Morales.
Alexa Grasso defeated Manon Fiorot to cement herself as the next contender for the flyweight belt after the conclusion of the UFC 332 main event.
Tommy McMillen picked up his third UFC victory as he outpointed Marwan Rahiki in one of the best fights of the year thusfar. The featherweights left it all in there across 15 minutes to put on a show for the fans.
