Dana White wanted to take no risks, as the anticipated WBC welterweight title fight between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn ended in a blink. A quick right uppercut followed by a barrage of shots and weeks of intensifying rivalry and heated exchange came to an abrupt halt at the 1:25 mark of the second round.
Following his devastating stoppage, Benn left the ring without any post-fight interviews, with the UFC head honcho revealing that the promotion will send the British boxer for medical check-ups as a precaution.
"Yeah, we want to send Conor to the hospital, yes," White addressed the post-fight press conference. "He was just back here now, I don't know if he went already or not. We definitely want to send him. I don't mess with that stuff."

This defeat marks the first stoppage loss in the Brit's pro boxing career, although he has lost once before to Chris Eubank Jr. via a unanimous decision in a catchweight bout. Meanwhile, 'KingRy' remained true to his promise of stopping Benn within the first 5 rounds, adding the 21st knockout victory to his resume.
However, the most chilling part of Garcia's welterweight title belt defense was his ominous warning to the 'Destroyer' before the fight went down on Saturday.
"Even if he makes the weight, your brain can’t rehydrate fast enough. Them punches are going to do real damage," the Mexican boxer had alerted Benn in the pre-fight press conference. Sure enough, that remains the primary speculation that motivated the hospital visit.

While no physical injuries have been reported, his gruelling weight cut sparked major concerns following the ruthless knockout.
