Conor McGregor just shared a positive update following his knee injury that took place in the first round of his fight against Max Holloway.

Conor McGregor is apparently already back on the grind, and fans don't really know what to make of it.
Just days after his high-profile comeback ended in utter disaster, the former two-division champion dropped a video on social media showing himself doing leg extensions in the gym. Unsurprisingly, the MMA world went into a collective frenzy over the clip, trying to figure out how the Irishman is already throwing weight around on that leg.

The sudden gym appearance comes right after one of the most painful moments of his career. McGregor made his long-awaited return to the Octagon at T-Mobile Arena against former featherweight champ Max Holloway.

Just 69 seconds into the first round, McGregor launched a jumping kick and landed terribly on his right leg. His knee buckled beneath him, sending him straight to the canvas in visible agony before referee Mike Beltran stepped in to stop the fight.

Fans Confused, Holloway Wants a Trilogy

After the event, UFC CEO Dana White told reporters that doctors suspected a torn ACL. That diagnosis felt like a cruel repeat of 2013, when McGregor tore the same ligament in his first fight against Holloway. McGregor pushed back on claims that he entered the cage already injured, tweeting that his mind was simply "destroyed" by how fast everything fell apart.

Still, watching him hit the leg extension machine so quickly left plenty of fight fans scratching their heads.
Looking at the official numbers, Conor McGregor now sits at a 22-7 pro record with 19 knockouts, connecting on 49 percent of his strikes while landing 5.28 significant strikes a minute.

Holloway, who holds the BMF title, sits at 28-9 with 12 knockouts, outputting a ridiculous 7.17 significant strikes per minute. So the fans definitely missed out on a striking masterclass.

Can Conor McGregor Overcome Challenges Brought on by Injury?

Holloway made it clear he hated seeing the fight end like that and said he wants to run it back for a trilogy once the Irishman recovers. Whether McGregor can actually bounce back from another major physical wreck is anybody's guess, but if this gym footage shows us anything, it's that he has no plans to fade away without a fight.
