Dana White has revealed the seriousness of Conor McGregor's injury from UFC 329, whilst also discussing the Irishman's possible return to the octagon.
Conor McGregor has often been praised by UFC CEO and president Dana White for being a tremendous business associate and megastar in the sport of MMA.
Speaking of which, White -- given his position in the UFC brass and his camaraderie with McGregor -- was asked to reveal the details of the injury that the legendary fighter suffered in his latest octagon appearance.
Well, White has now suggested that McGregor hurt his ACL in his high-profile rematch against Max Holloway that headlined UFC 329 on July 11.

During the UFC Oklahoma City post-fight press conference, Dana White addressed various topics, including the event's headlining match that saw Dricus du Plessis outpoint Kamaru Usman.
Upon being asked for an update on Conor McGregor, White stated, "He's having knee surgery. That's it. I mean, the Conor McGregor discussion isn't even worth talking about. He's got to have knee surgery. He's going to have to go through physical therapy."
Alluding that the Irishman faces a long road ahead of his return to the octagon, White said, "It's all going to take time. And then, when the doctor says you can start hardcore training again, then we start talking about Conor McGregor again."
Moreover, White was eventually questioned about the exact nature of the injury that McGregor sustained at UFC 329. The veteran combat sports promoter initially replied by saying, "I don't know."
He then asked his team regarding the same, to which he was notified that it was an ACL injury. White said, "ACL... His (Conor McGregor's) knee is f**ked up."

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor eyes comeback as final fight on his deal looms on the horizon
Conor McGregor was afflicted by -- what many deemed to be -- one of the most horrific mid-fight injuries in MMA history back in July of 2021. The Dubliner broke his left leg and faced an injury-induced TKO loss in his trilogy clash against Dustin Poirier, a lightweight showdown, at UFC 264.
"The Notorious" underwent intense rehabilitation and was booked to fight Michael Chandler at welterweight in the headlining matchup of UFC 303 in June of 2024. But he faced a toe injury weeks away from the event, and the match against Chandler didn't come to fruition.
McGregor ultimately returned to the octagon after a five-year hiatus in a rematch against Max Holloway at UFC 329 earlier this month. This time around, he suffered an injury to his right leg and lost via TKO to Holloway.
McGregor had outpointed the Hawaiian at featherweight back in 2013, and they're now one apiece in MMA clashes inside the octagon. Both "Mystic Mac" and Holloway have called for their trilogy fight to be booked.
Nevertheless, it's unclear whether that'll materialize. McGregor, a former UFC featherweight and lightweight kingpin, has vowed to recover and return for the final fight of his current UFC contract.
