Fans thrilled by war between Carol Foro and Giovanna Canuto, criticize UFC sound effects in highlights

Carol Foro and Giovanna Canuto clashed in a thrilling three-round war, captivating many in the MMA community. 

Nevertheless, several fans criticized the UFC for the sound effects added to the fight's highlights video, which was posted as a YouTube Short video to the official UFC YouTube channel.

Carol Foro defeated the TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Season 34 fighter, Giovanna Canuto, via unanimous decision. Their back-and-forth women's strawweight encounter served as the opening fight for the UFC Vegas 120 event at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas on August 8. 

Both Brazilian fighters won significant praise from the fans. Many took to the comments section of a YouTube Short posted by the UFC, which featured some pivotal moments from the matchup. 

A commenter noted, "Dude this fight was good af," whereas another wrote, "That was one killer third round." Meanwhile, a viewer asserted, "Respect to both ladies," and one observer stated, "Congratulation for this Dog Fight Ladies." 

On one hand was the extraordinary display of skill and will that elicited praise. On the other were some rather peculiar sound effects in the UFC's highlights video that irked more than a few fans. 

One fan called out the sound edits, writing, "Those sound effects." The netizen seemingly referenced an armbar attempt that nearly earned Canuto the win, highlighting, "That attempted submission sounded like popcorn." 

Another fan appeared to joke about the same, saying, "The combo sound effects." Some even insinuated that they were a tad cartoonish. A commenter tagged the UFC and suggested that the effects were unnecessary: "The sound effects are not needed."

Carol Foro continues winning ways with maiden UFC win against fellow newcomer Giovanna Canuto at UFC Vegas 120

Carol Foro fought tooth and nail for the victory in her promotional debut against a fellow UFC debutant. The 29-year-old entered the match with seven consecutive wins to her name. "Annabelle" has now extended her win streak to eight. 

Moreover, Giovanna Canuto had her three-fight winning streak snapped. It's noteworthy that despite being outstruck by Foro in round one, the 23-year-old "Gigi" rallied to out-grapple her and threaten with a rear-naked choke in the second round. 

A near-finish ensued in round three when she had a vicious armbar locked against Foro, who, to her credit, wriggled out of it. The older fighter ended on a strong note, utilizing her heavy hands to hurt an apparently exhausted Canuto before the buzzer sounded.
