Michael Bisping uses Movsar Evloev’s tough competition to challenge the narrative around his finishes,

Demetrious Johnson has questioned how Movsar Evloev has gone 10 UFC fights without a single finish despite being undefeated. Johnson was surprised that Evloev hasn't managed to score even one submission.

Israel Adesanya also joined in, pointing out that Evloev is primarily a grappler but has yet to record a submission or knockout in the UFC. However, Michael Bisping has fired back at both UFC stars and defended the Dagestani fighter.

Michael Bisping Fires Back At Demetrious Johnson's Criticism Of Movsar Evloev's Lack Of UFC Finishes

Michael Bisping has defended Movsar Evloev after Demetrious Johnson criticized him for not having any finishes in the UFC. Bisping said Evloev has faced tough opponents and that it's not easy to finish fighters at that level. During his recent video, the UFC veteran said, “Now, he was trying to finish Lerone Murphy. He didn't even go for a takedown until like the third round or something like that. He was fighting on the feet. It was an entertaining fight. It was back and forth. And yeah, Movsar got the job done, and he was the rightful winner.”

Bisping felt it was an entertaining, back-and-forth fight and that Evloev deserved the win. Now, Evloev faces one of the biggest tests of his career at UFC 333. Volkanovski may be getting older, but he still has the technical ability to cause serious problems for the Dagestani.

Movsar Evloev Aims To Beat Alexander Volkanovski In A Five-Round Battle

Evloev says he no longer wants to finish Alexander Volkanovski. Instead, he wants to beat him over five rounds and prove the featherweight champion isn't anything special. Evloev respects Volkanovski's confidence but believes he is just as good and wants to prove it inside the Octagon.

“I was looking for a finish, but when I hear that kind of stuff, I don’t want a finish. I want to prove that he’s not special. I can beat him over five rounds. He’s confident. I like that confidence, but me too,” the 32-year-old said on MMA Junkie.

The featherweight champion has faced elite grapplers like Islam Makhachev in the UFC and has very solid takedown defense. It is going to be a tough night for Evloev if he can only rely on takedowns, as Volkanovski has proven time and again that he can handle that threat.
