Nina Milosevic debuts with body shot TKO of Hailey Cowan, ecstatic in octagon interview at UFC Belgrade

Nina Milosevic secured a terrifying technical knockout win, courtesy of her tenacious striking, in her UFC debut. 

The Sweden-born fighter of Serbian descent proceeded to give an electrifying post-fight octagon interview in front of her compatriots at UFC Belgrade. It transpired at the Belgrade Arena in the city of Belgrade, Serbia, on August 1.

Nina Milosevic entered her maiden UFC fight with a professional MMA record of 8-1. The lone loss in the talented combatant's career came via split decision in her pro debut.

Moreover, she also boasts an impressive amateur MMA career, winning gold representing Serbia at the IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) World Championships back in 2023. She's a two-time IMMAF champion. 

As highlighted in her recent conversation with the UFC, it's well-known that revered Australian MMA coach Renato Subotic -- who himself boasts Serbian heritage -- helped mentor her after the IMMAF triumph. 

"Queen Beast" was welcomed to the UFC amid much fanfare by her compatriots in Serbia, as well as by fans watching in her birthplace, Sweden, and her training ground of Australia. 

She was up against UFC staple Hailey Cowan, a Texas-born fighter who'd been looking to break a three-fight losing streak. Regardless, "All Hail" had consistently competed in the octagon and was viewed by a few as someone who could test the UFC newcomer under the bright lights. 

Well, Milosevic ended up putting on a striking clinic. She tagged her American foe with a right straight/cross to the body. The sheer force of the punch momentarily froze Cowan, who was attacked with a volley of punches thereafter. 

Cowan tried her best to hit back, but Milosevic caught her with the same right hand to the body again. It knocked her down and forced Referee Jacob Montalvo to wave the fight off at the 3:41-minute mark of round one. Milosevic thereby bagged the TKO win in the women's bantamweight bout.

Nina Milosevic (aka Nina Nikolija Milosevic) added yet another win to her pro mixed martial arts record, which now stands at 9-1. She spoke to former UFC middleweight champion and retired MMA great Michael Bisping during her post-fight octagon interview. 

The fighter-turned-commentator and interviewer congratulated her on the terrifyingly precise and powerful body shots. Upon being asked how it felt to score such a win in Serbia, a jumping Milosevic exclaimed, "Great! It feels great!" She added, "And you can see it on me as well." 

Additionally, she alluded to having trained the strike many times. Milosevic said, "We've been practising on this, like, a thousand million times. So we already predicted this, yes, but we didn't know when." 

The 29-year-old seemed to be jumping in joy again. Meanwhile, Bisping indicated that the first straight/cross to Cowan's body hurt her, adding that the second one that followed moments later sealed the deal. 

Milosevic concurred. Bisping then asked how soon she'd like to fight again, to which she replied, "Oh. As soon as possible. And I wanna say I've made history again. I fought here three years ago and won the first gold for Serbia! And here we are!" 

The rising star harked back to her aforementioned victory at the IMMAF World Championships, which, incidentally, also saw her compete at the same venue, the Belgrade Arena. 

It's noteworthy that, as mentioned in her recent conversation with the UFC, she'd spent around seven weeks training well above sea level in the mountains of Zlatibor in Southwest Serbia, all with a dedicated training camp -- comprising nutritionists, doctors, and more -- helping prepare for her highly anticipated UFC debut. 

Born to a Serbian farming family, Milosevic has swiftly made a name for herself since her professional MMA debut in November of 2023.
