The British lightweight praised the former UFC champion but believes he has the tools to finish him if they ever meet.

Paddy Pimblett has just added an impressive victory to his record. At UFC 329, the British fighter defeated Benoit St. Denis by submission in only 52 seconds of the first round to secure a Performance of the Night bonus.

His outstanding performance seems to have boosted his confidence as "The Baddy" looks toward his next move in the UFC. Now, Pimblett wants to face Charles Oliveira for the BMF title, and he is confident he would submit the Brazilian.

Pimblett praises Oliveira but believes in submission

A former lightweight champion and the current holder of the BMF title, Oliveira holds the record for the most submission wins in UFC history. Needless to say, he is a fighter nobody can overlook. And Pimblett is fully aware of that.

Still, the British fighter believes he would finish the Brazilian. Speaking to Ag Fight, he praised "do Bronx" before claiming he would defeat the Brazilian by submission.

"Charles Oliveira is a legend in this sport," Paddy Pimblett began. "I'd love to fight him. I have nothing but respect for him. I think he's one of the greatest lightweights of all time, but I believe I'd submit him. I'm really confident, I truly am. Give me Charles Oliveira for the BMF title, and I'll submit him."

A potential BMF showdown

Last March, Oliveira defeated Max Holloway to win the BMF title. As for Pimblett, the British fighter bounced back with his victory over St. Denis after suffering a loss to Justin Gaethje in January. Following his impressive performance, "The Baddy" climbed to the No. 4 spot in the lightweight rankings.

A potential clash with Oliveira could make sense if the Brazilian doesn't receive a title shot in the near future and Pimblett continues building on his recent performances.

For now, there are no official talks regarding a fight between the two. However, with Oliveira holding the BMF title and Pimblett climbing the lightweight rankings, the matchup could become a realistic option if both remain on their current paths.
