Rodolfo Bellato set to face Christian Edwards at UFC Vegas 121

The light heavyweight contenders will meet at the UFC event in Las Vegas on Sept. 26.
Rodolfo Bellato has his next UFC fight booked. After winning his last bout in March, the Brazilian is now set to face Christian Edwards at UFC Fight Night 289, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Sept. 26. The matchup was reported by journalist Laerte Viana even though the UFC is still to make an official announcement.
Rodolfo Bellato Chasing Another Victory
One might say that Bellato is persistent. The Brazilian participated twice at Dana White's Contender Series and was able to secure a contract with the UFC after defeating Murtaza Talha Ali by TKO in his second appearance.
After signing with the organization and winning in his promotional debut, Bellato went through a rough stretch before finding his good form again last March, when he defeated Luke Fernandez by TKO in the first round. Now, the Brazilian looks to capitalize on his recent performance to secure another victory in the UFC.
Christian Edwards Looking to Bounce Back
On the other hand, Edwards is seeking a return to victory lane after being defeated by Modestas Bukauskas last May. In fact, his loss to the Lithuanian fighter came on his promotional debut in the UFC, and the American will look to secure his first victory in the organization. Edwards previously competed in Bellator, where he went 5-3 before making his move to the UFC.
The matchup gives both light heavyweights an opportunity to move forward in the division. While Bellato enters the bout coming off a win, Edwards will be looking to get his first UFC victory. With the UFC yet to announce the full card, more bouts are expected to be added to UFC Vegas 121 in the coming weeks.
