MVP MMA are set to put on their first event, live on Netflix, headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano. The co-main event will feature the former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou and former UFC and PFL man, Philipe Lins.

We also know that Jake Paul’s promotion is set to make more signings in the near future to pack out the card. After an insightful video from The Fight Disciples, they predicted that MVP MMA could be a real competitor to the UFC. Catch the full video here:

We take a look at who Jake Paul’s MVP MMA could sign to make waves in the industry and begin to worry Dana White and the UFC.

MVP MMA vs UFC – Who could MVP MMA sign to their roster?

The Flyweight Star

There’s one name that isn’t in the UFC that MVP MMA could sign that would make a huge statement. Although this individual is currently signed to the PFL on a long contract, cross-promotion could work.

The UFC’s women’s flyweight division is stale. The same champion has been dominant for a number of years and, although she dropped the belt, she won it back in a dominant fashion. There’s one woman in the world of MMA who could cause Valentina Shevchenko a lot of problems, and that is Dakota Ditcheva.

Dakota Ditcheva is frustrated with contractual situation

Ditcheva is young, spiteful, undefeated and could be a huge ticket seller. She talks well, comes across well on social media and above all else, is an elite talent. At just 27 years old, the Muay Thai expert is being held back by the quality of her opponents in the PFL and with the eyes that she would get with the backing of Netflix, she could be catapulted into super stardom.

Ditcheva has been featured in the crowd of UFC events previously, and it’s no hidden secret that fans want her in the big leagues. If MVP MMA sign her, it makes a huge statement.

The Future Megastar

If MVP MMA really want to get underneath the UFC’s skin, they should look at having elite prospect, Gable Steveson, on the card on May 16th. MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani, reported that the UFC had discussed having Steveson debut on the UFC White House card. As we now know, this never materialised, but if MVP MMA want to make a statement, they sign him.

The most interesting aspect of this potential signing is that Steveson’s coach, Jon Jones, is in dispute with the UFC over not being included on the White House card. If Jones also wants to get one over on the UFC, he could encourage his protege to sign for MVP MMA.

The Ambitious but Impossible

The aforementioned Jon Jones. It’s reasonable to say that this would never happen, but after Bones asked to be released from his UFC contract, anything is on the table. At the Rousey vs Carano presser, Jake Paul also invited Jones over, saying, “Jon, you’re always welcome to come over to MVP. We’ll get you paid what you deserve”.

It won’t happen, but if it did, there’s no denying that Dana White would be slightly worried…
