As per Ariel Helwani, two of the biggest names in women’s MMA history will go at it inside a ‘hexagon’ live on Netflix on Saturday, May 16th. This will mark the first time ever that live MMA will be hosted on Netflix, and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions will promote the fight, their first MMA card.
The fight will be contested at 145lbs and is scheduled for five, five-minute rounds.

Both women will be coming out of retirement for their May 16th showdown.
Ronda Rousey last competed in MMA 10 years ago when she was finished by Amanda Nunes in the first round of their bout at UFC 207. A major part of Rousey’s reason for retiring from the sport was due to concussion-like symptoms, something she detailed in her second book.
Since retiring, she ventured into the world of professional wrestling with the WWE and has also written several graphic novels.
Gina Carano has been retired much longer than her May 16th opponent. One of the pioneers of the sport for women, Carnao last competed in 2009 in a loss to Cris Cyborg at Strikeforce headliner, which became the first time two women headlined a major MMA event.
Since retiring, Carano has focused on acting, most notably featuring in The Mandalorian as Carasynthia Dune.
