UFC Vegas 119 is the first show of the summer slate. We take a look at the thrilling main card for Saturday night.

UFC Vegas 119 fight week rolls on. In the aftermath of a rare Sunday night event on The White House south lawn a week ago, MMA's No. 1 promotion is back on its usual night and time this Saturday. The temperatures are heating up outside, and so is the action inside the fabled Octagon on the first night of summer.

Meta Apex is the setting for UFC Vegas 119 this weekend. Live coverage of UFC Vegas 119 begins with the prelims at 5 pm ET/ 2 pm PT Saturday afternoon.

Inside the United States, Paramount Plus will stream UFC Vegas 119 gavel-to-gavel. Main card action follows at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT inside Meta Apex in Enterprise, NV. Should there be no adjustments made to the schedule between now and the weekend, the final version of UFC Vegas 119 will see a slate of 12 bouts contested in the cage.

UFC Vegas 119 Main Event: No. 2 Contender Manel Kape vs. No. 5 Contender Kyoji Horiguchi II: Kape Faces Critical Test Saturday

At the top of the bill Saturday night, the flyweights go to battle inside the Octagon when No. 2 contender Manel Kape (22-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) fights No. 5 Kyoji Horiguchi (36-5, 1 NC MMA, 9-1 UFC.) This contest is a rematch of a fight from New Year's Eve, 2017 in RIZIN Fighting Federation, won by Horiguchi via third-round submission.

This main event is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the night's activities. Kape enters the rematch having gone 4-1 in his last five fights.

He's won three fights consecutively, including a first-round knockout victory over Brandon Royval on Dec. 10 during the last UFC show to air on ESPN's properties. With the stoppage, Kape secured the $50,000 (USD) bonus for the Performance of the Night.

Kape currently sits at No. 2 in the rankings at 125, so he'll need to turn in an amazing performance in the main event. He can't afford to slip up when he's within a whisker of a shot at the UFC Flyweight Championship. Will he get revenge on Horiguchi?

Kyoji Horiguchi Aiming to Go 2-for-2 vs. Kape Saturday

Across the way, Kyoji Horiguchi has posted a record of 5-0 in his last five trips to the cage. He's on a seven-fight unbeaten streak dating back to the fall of 2022.

Back in February, he scored a unanimous decision win against Amir Albazi (17-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) inside the selfsame Apex where UFC Vegas 119 will take place this weekend. Horiguchi is in the top-5 at flyweight and is on a hot streak ahead of the card this weekend.

When a fighter is on a roll, as Kyoji Horiguchi currently is, he's a dangerous combatant. Can he take the next step toward a title shot?

UFC Vegas 119 Co-Main Event: Ion Cutelaba vs. Navajo Stirling: Sizing Up Cutelaba

Immediately beforehand, action shifts to 205 lbs when Ion Cutelaba (20-11-1, 1 NC MMA, 9-10-1 UFC) meets up with unbeaten Navajo Stirling (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC.) This is a three-round contest at five minutes each.

Cutelaba enters the weekend with a mark of 3-2 in his last five outings. In March, he finished Oumar Sy with a mounted guillotine choke inside the opening round of the contest.

As the summer begins on Saturday, Cutelaba, a seasoned veteran of the world of competitive violence, faces a tough test in the form of an undefeated opponent. How will he fare on Saturday night? Only time will tell.

Navajo Stirling Seeks 10th Straight Win at UFC Vegas 119 This Weekend

Meanwhile, Navajo Stirling has yet to lose thus far as a professional fighter. The 2024 Contender Series alumnus last fought on March 28 in Mexico City.

That night, he stopped Bruno Lopes by way of ground and pound shots during round two. He's approaching a career milestone, as a victory here will make 10 in a row to begin his pro career in the sport of MMA.

If you're thinking about leaving the room to plate up some dinner when the UFC Vegas 119 co-main event takes place over the weekend, you might want to think twice about it. Numerically speaking, five of his victories have been recorded by way of knockout. Is a sixth knockout win in the cards?

UFC Vegas 119: Hyder Amil vs. Christian Rodriguez: Amil Looking to Stop Skid

Also on the UFC Vegas 119 main card this Saturday evening, the featherweights lock horns for a contest matching Hyder Amil (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) with Christian Rodriguez (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC.) Hyder Amil will be making the walk with a 3-2 record since joining the UFC's active roster in February of 2024.

He's lost two fights in a row, including a unanimous decision at the hands of Jamall Emmers (22-8 MMA, 5-4 UFC) on Nov. 8. Prior to this current two-fight losing streak, he'd won 11 bouts in succession to begin his pro career.

Which version of Hyder Amil shows up at Meta Apex on Saturday night? If it's the version of Amil who secured 11 consecutive wins, he'll be in good shape.

Christian Rodriguez Competing in First Fight After Move

In the other corner, Christian Rodriguez will be making his first walk to the Octagon in 2026 on Saturday sporting a 2-3 record in his last five outings. Like Hyder Amil, he's also on a two-fight losing streak going into the weekend.

Most recently, he sustained a split decision defeat to Andre Fili (25-13, 1 NC MMA, 13-12, 1 NC UFC) last August in Enterprise. Prior to UFC Vegas 119, Rodriguez headed for greener pastures, moving to Nevada six months ago. He feels thankful to have a main card slot this weekend.

"We're both coming off two losses," Rodriguez said at Wednesday's media day, "so, that's definitely more motivating for both of us, because we both want to get back in the win column."

Someone's streak will end. Who will emerge victorious here?

Rest of the Card

UFC Vegas 119's main card is rounded out by two other featherweight fights, one versing Melsik Bagdasaryan (8-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) against Murtzali Magomedov (10-0 MMA, UFC promotional debut,) the other pairing Vinicius Oliveira (23-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) with the aforementioned Andre Fili (25-13, 1 NC MMA, 13-12, 1 NC UFC.)
