Alex Pereira's Team Gives Green Light On Josh Hokit Fight

Alex Pereira dreamt of something that no one has ever achieved in the UFC. After becoming the champion in two different weight classes, ‘Poatan’ wanted to clinch a third UFC championship. Unfortunately, going up against Ciryl Gane, things did not turn out as expected. However, instead of backing down, Pereira seems ready to roar again. His coach, Glover Teixeira, has the perfect opponent in mind. 

Glover Teixeira Feels Josh Hokit Good Matchup for Alex Pereira

In a recent statement, Pereira’s coach was spotted reflecting on the path forward for the Brazilian star. Speaking about his possible next opponents, Teixeira named Hokit as the perfect choice. With UFC heavyweight star repeatedly calling out Pereira, coach Teixeira feels that now is the right time for the bout to help Pereira come back on track. 

Teixeira said, “I know for sure he's going to get that belt, man... He's gonna stay at heavyweight. is talking a lot of sh*t... go over there and knock his ass out and get back to the top, and then get the rematch."

Surely, the match makes a lot of sense. With Pereira getting knocked out by Ciryl Gane in the last bout, a win against Hokit will once again put the ‘Poatan’ into championship territory. Meanwhile, following Teixeira’s statement, Hokit fired back with a brutal statement. 

Josh Hokit Gives a Scathing Reply to Glover Teixeira

Hokit was quick to reply to Pereira’s coach. Accepting the challenge, he asked the UFC to either give him a championship bout against Gane. If not, the 28-year-old demanded a BMF title fight against Pereira. Not only that, but he also had a scathing remark for ‘Poatan’ and his fellow heavyweights. 

Hokit said, “Tired of watching these little cr**ch sniffers lay & pray & people call them the BMF/P4P. You can’t have those titles & just hold guys down without doing damage. Whoever I fight, the fans will get pure violence with a show.”

Hokit is undefeated in his MMA career so far. In the UFC, the heavyweight star has won all of his bouts via KO, except one. Having defeated the likes of Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis back-to-back, the 28-year-old will be flying high in confidence.
