Casey O’Neill has shared her blunt reaction to the lackluster Ailin Perez vs. Norma Dumont bout at UFC Vegas 121.
In the lead-up to UFC Vegas 121, one fight that had the whole MMA community talking was the co-main between Ailin Perez and Norma Dumont because of the bad blood stemming from a mix of romantic accusations, digital stalking allegations, and severe disrespect toward each other's lifestyle choices.
The rivalry between them is one of the most deeply personal and toxic feuds in the history of the UFC women's bantamweight division. However, when the cage door was closed, and they were set to settle it in the octagon, neither looked as aggressive as fans expected, and many called it a lackluster bout.
Now, women’s UFC flyweight Casey O'Neill has shared her reaction to the not-much-entertaining fight and believes it was underwhelming.

Both fighters remained cautious in the first round, but Perez took the round with cleaner striking and a late takedown. Dumont bounced back in the second round with an early takedown, but the fight returned to the feet, and the Brazilian landed more significant strikes. The third round followed a similar pattern. The fight went the distance.
The three judges scored the contest 29-28 in favor of Perez.
Following the fight, O'Neill took to X to share her reaction. The Australian appeared to be underwhelmed by what she had seen, particularly after all the buildup surrounding the rivalry.
“Was expecting a fight after all that talking,” O’Neill wrote.

Though the MMA world is criticizing the bout for not having much action, Perez wouldn't be affected by the outside noise, as with a victory over Dumont, she has probably cemented herself as next in line for the women's bantamweight title shot.
What's next for Ailin Perez and Casey O'Neill
The victory extended Perez's win streak to seven and put her in position to demand a title opportunity from the UFC brass. It's likely that in her next fight, she will face the winner of Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes, which will go down in November at UFC 334, where Harrison is defending her title.
As for O'Neill, in her most recent UFC outing, she stunned fans by pulling off a helicopter armbar to submit Eduarda Moura in the first round at UFC 331. Following the fight, she called out Maycee Barber.
