âThis Contract Changes His Lifeâ: Dana White on His Employee Salahuddin Everett
White said the deal changed his life. Everett no longer has to work at the office, and the next time White runs into him, it will be for training. The contract pays enough for Everett to make a living and support his family, the UFC boss said. As per White, if he is really going to take a run as a fighter, he needs to take it seriously and go all in.
âWell, I think this contract changes his life to where he doesn't have to work at the office. I think that, you know, when we run into Sal now, it'll be a training. I think if he's going to really do this and take a run, now he's got a contract that actually pays him enough money to make a living and support his family, then he needs to take this serious and go,â White said.
For those who donât know, Everett faced undefeated welterweight Ozzy Martin on October 6, 2026, at the UFC Meta Apex. It didn't take long. Just 1 minute and 57 seconds into the first round, Everett pinned Martin against the fence and let his hands go. A right-hand combination put Martin out cold.
Dana White Welcomed Salahuddin Everett After His DWCS Win
Everett kept his day job as White's personal assistant and facility runner while quietly building an undefeated 4-0 record on the regional scene. White liked his work ethic and his skill, and he personally handed Everett the invitation to compete on the show. Reacting to his win, White said, âEverybody at the UFC loves you, you're a great kid. This could not happen to a better person... It's kind of weird since you're already at the UFC, but welcome to the UFC.â
Indeed, Everett made the most of it. White was delighted with the performance and signed him to a UFC contract, with Everett's perfect record now sitting at 5-0.
