Former UFC fighter Sam Alvey's new journey begins with BKFC

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship confirms signing the UFC's longest winless streak holder in history, Sam Alvey
BKFC has made its pick, and it’s the veteran with the longest winless record in the UFC.
Sam Alvey starts a new chapter of his fighting career
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has recently signed former UFC heavyweight Sam Alvey. While some are calling it a brave decision, others are optimistic. Alvey parted ways with the UFC in 2022. Ever since then, he has started to compete in striking-only rulesets.
The 40-year-old fighter is now looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career with BKFC. On October 2, the promotion announced via their Instagram story that they have signed Alvey to a multi-fight deal.

‘Smilin’ Sam had previously fought fighters like Rashad Evans, Derek Brunson, and Brendan Allen during his 24 bout career in the UFC. Along with that, he also holds the record for the longest winless streak in UFC history. His last nine consecutive fights with the UFC ended in losses except for one draw.
Alvey (33-18-1), however, was not popular because of his striking game. Therefore, his move to boxing rulesets was quite surprising to some.
Again, Alvey is definitely one to pleasantly surprise his fans. During his time in Karate Combat, he snatched the dominant multi-division champion title after leaving the octagon behind.
In his last fight, Alvey beat Uriah Hall, another UFC veteran, in a light heavyweight title match, and his toughness made a major contribution to that. It will definitely be interesting to see how his fighting strategy unfolds with BKFC. There has been some speculation regarding who will be Avey’s opponent.
The fight between two former UFC stars stuns the crowd
Two former UFC icons, Darren Till and Yoel Romero, met for the first time in the ring. And they did not disappoint. The two fought each other in the main event of BKFC 94 in Manchester, England.
The bout between the two former title challengers ended up becoming an extremely close fight contested over the 10-minute distance. Both fighters seemed apprehensive about the reaction that they were expecting from the fight at BKFC 94. The bout reached a high-tension point when a knockdown by Romero wasn’t considered, as the bell had already rung.
However, the record-setting crowd of 15,800 people were rewarded with Gorilla’s unanimous 49-46 win.
