“He’s a Fraud”: Colby Covington Unloads Explosive Rant on Bo Nickal

Colby Covington has never been one to hold back his thoughts, and his latest target is none other than middleweight prospect Bo Nickal. The former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion unloaded a scathing rant directed at Nickal, dismantling the former collegiate wrestling star’s hype and calling him a total fraud.

Nickal entered the Octagon with immense fanfare following an elite wrestling career at Penn State, where he captured three NCAA Division I national championships. However, Covington believes the hype train officially derailed when Nickal suffered his first career loss against Dutch grappler Reinier de Ridder.

According to Covington, Nickal’s aura of invincibility was exposed the moment he faced top-tier international competition, questioning his toughness when forced into deep waters.

"He's a bozo," Covington said during his explosive rant. "You know, he's not a star. No one cares about him. He quit to a Dutch grappler. A Dutch grappler... like, a Dutch grappler doesn't even know how to strike. And you quit to that guy. Like, you're not a world beater. You're not everything you tell the world to be. You're a fraud, and you know, you're irrelevant to the business world."

Covington did not stop there, taking direct aim at Nickal's response under pressure during the fight.

"We saw when he fought the Dutch grappler, that guy made him quit," Covington continued. "And he quit before the punch even hit his liver, you know, the knee. So, we saw the exposed guy that isn't a real fighter. He doesn't like to fight. He doesn't like to get punched. He's a wrestler. He had a decent wrestling career in the American States, you know, but every time he's in the world level, look what he does. He quits. He gets beat. He's a perennial loser. He does nothing. So, you know, I don't think he goes very far."

Nickal built his early MMA record to 6-0 with dominant finishes over opponents like Jamie Pickett and Cody Brundage before running into de Ridder. The step up in competition proved costly, as de Ridder capitalized in the second round, landing hard knees to the body that ultimately folded Nickal and handed him his first professional defeat.

While Nickal continues his journey in the UFC middleweight division, trying to rebuild his momentum, Covington clearly isn't sold on his potential. As usual, "Chaos" isn't pulling any punches when it comes to the next generation of fighters trying to make a name for themselves.
