“I like it”: Dana White backs Salahdine Parnasse’s bold Max Holloway callout after UFC Paris

Salahdine Parnasse wasted no time calling out fourth-ranked lightweight Max Holloway after his impressive debut at UFC Paris last weekend. Now, UFC CEO Dana White has reacted to the callout and shared that he likes that the French-Moroccan wants to test himself against the best of the best. 

Dana White reacts to Salahdine Parnasse calling out Max Holloway 

Parnasse put on a show in front of his home crowd in his UFC Debut. He faced Dan Hooker in the event headliner at UFC Paris. The French-Moroccan made quick work at the office and finished the UFC veteran in just 2:35 minutes of the first round. 

With the victory, he delivered a statement on why his UFC debut was among the most anticipated. He then went on to call out Holloway, expressing his admiration for the former featherweight champion and calling it a dream fight. 

Now, in the DWCS post-fight press conference, White has reacted to Parnasse calling out Holloway. He pointed out how big a star former KSW champion is and feels the 28-year-old’s willingness to challenge the former BMF champion immediately is incredible. 

“Incredible. He was like the third-biggest debut on social media that we’ve ever had. Behind Paddy Pimblett and Rosas Jr… The crowd was incredible. The fight was great. And calling out Max Holloway is pretty crazy,” White said.

Parnasse is already targeting one of the biggest names in the lightweight division, which White believes is impressive and could make for an interesting matchup. 

“Listen, anything’s interesting. I mean, the fact that guy wants to fight Max Holloway right now is impressive. I like it,” White added.

The manner in which Parnasse won against Hooker has put him firmly on the radar of the lightweight division. With the victory, he secured the No. 9 ranking in the division. The critics are already throwing names, if not Holloway, that he should face next. One such matchup could be with Paddy Pimblett. Daniel Cormier feels the Brit will make the former KSW champion work hard to get the job.

Cormier believes Parnasse will do great against other ranked lightweights, as they mostly pose a striking-heavy matchup, but with Pimblett, who brings elite grappling skills inside the octagon, that will make the matchup interesting. The former UFC two-division champion feels the Brit is the only grappler in the top who could hand the French-Moroccan a defeat. 

"Parnasse, fighting the other guys at 155, they're generally strikers. Those are great fights," Cormier stated during his post-fight analysis. "There's one real grappler at the top of that division right now to try and ground this man, and that's Paddy Pimblett, who's really good at it.”
