Israel Adesanya Has a Major Warning for Ilia Topuria About his Next Move

When Ilia Topuria faced Justin Gaethje, ‘El Matador’ ended the bout in a manner he had never experienced. Coming into the fight with an unbeaten record, the Spaniard was hoping to walk away with his title defense. Unfortunately for Topuria, the result turned out quite adverse for him. Now, as the former UFC champion looks to bounce back, Israel Adesanya had a stern warning for him. 

Adesanya recently appeared in an episode of the ‘Precision with Izzy & Mighty’ podcast. Speaking about Topuria, Adesanya pointed out that it would be wise for ‘El Matador’ to not jump into the octagon against Justin Gaethje right away. While his approach was correct to push for his belt, ‘Izzy’ believes that a slow approach would benefit Topuria in recovering better. 

‘The Last Stylebender’ said, “After a beating like that, I'd advise him not to take the fight with Justin because I think getting another win before getting a title shot would be best for him."

Currently, one name that has popped up as Topuria’s potential next fight is Paddy Pimblett. ‘Baddy’ has recently taken some scathing verbal shots at the former two-division champion, and with a possible Arman Tsarukyan-Justin Gaethje fight in the making, Topuria might not get his revenge match right away.

Ahead of his big return to the UFC, Topuria dropped some surprising accusations against Gaethje. In a recent statement, Topuria pointed out how Gaethje might have put something suspicious inside his gloves. Such a cheating claim immediately became a hot topic of debate. Replying to the same, Pimblett launched a vicious verbal attack on ‘El Matador.’

“With all the stuff coming out now with Ilia and Justin, it wouldn't surprise me if they end up fighting and having a rematch. Ilia’s trying to say that he had stuff in his gloves, which he definitely never. You know, the commission watch, you get your hands wrapped, think Ilia’s just being a sore loser, lad's being a little bi*ch about it,” Pimblett said. 

Thus, with things heating up between the two, fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s next.
