Joanderson Brito has another fight on the horizon. The Brazilian featherweight is set to face Giga Chikadze at UFC 331 on Sept. 19 in Los Angeles, with the matchup already listed on the UFC's official event card. The bout will give Brito an opportunity to build on his recent victory over Jordan Leavitt, while Chikadze looks to return to the win column after three consecutive losses.
Joanderson Brito Chasing Another Victory
Coming off an impressive submission victory over Jordan Leavitt in June, Brito is looking to keep his momentum going. The Brazilian has won his last two Octagon appearances, bouncing back after suffering back-to-back losses. Brito had previously built a five-fight winning streak before losing to William Gomis in September 2024.
Giga Chikadze Looking to Return to the Win Column
On the other hand, Chikadze has seen better days inside the Octagon. Over the last four years, the Georgian fighter has compiled a 1-4 record and has lost his last three appearances. Chikadze is currently going through a rough stretch, but the Georgian previously enjoyed an impressive run after making his UFC debut in September 2019. He won his first seven fights in the promotion, including victories over names such as Cub Swanson and Edson Barboza.
Known for his karate-based striking, Chikadze has built his UFC career around his kicking game and ability to control fights at range. Brito, meanwhile, is a well-rounded fighter who mixes aggressive striking with a sharp submission game. Both fighters are constantly seeking a finish, making their matchup an intriguing clash of styles.
UFC 331 will also feature several other interesting matchups. In the main event, Alexandre Pantoja is set for a rematch against Joshua Van for the flyweight belt. In the lightweight division, Arman Tsarukyan will take on Mauricio Ruffy in a fight that could decide the next title challenger. In the same weight class, Renato Moicano will face Brian Ortega in a rematch nearly a decade after their first fight.
