Arman Tsarukyan set to face Dillon Danis for RAF title

Arman Tsarukyan is set for another bout outside the UFC. The lightweight contender will face Dillon Danis in a wrestling match for the inaugural Real American Freestyle Middleweight Championship at RAF 14 on Oct. 3 in Las Vegas, the promotion has announced. The matchup comes just weeks after Tsarukyan is scheduled to face Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331 on Sept. 19.

Arman Tsarukyan Set For Another RAF Appearance

Tsarukyan signed with RAF in January and has been competing regularly in the promotion. Since then, the Armenian has participated in eight wrestling matches, winning seven of them, including victories over names such as Urijah Faber and Tony Ferguson. Meanwhile, Tsarukyan will also return to the Octagon after nearly one year away. The last time the Armenian stepped into the cage was last November, when he submitted Dan Hooker. Now, Tsarukyan is set to face Ruffy at UFC 331.

Dillon Danis Gets Another Chance at RAF

On the other hand, Danis has yet to win a match in RAF. The American has competed twice in the promotion and was defeated by Colby Covington and Khamzat Chimaev. His fight against the Russian ended in absolute chaos when both corner teams stormed the mats to defend their fighters after an altercation broke out between them following the end of the match.

Despite the situation at RAF 10 with Chimaev, the promotion later clarified that Danis was not banned from the organization. In fact, the American has now been given the opportunity to become the first RAF middleweight champion.

Tsarukyan now has another commitment on his schedule outside the UFC, but his immediate focus will be on Ruffy. The Armenian will first have to get through his UFC 331 matchup before turning his attention to the RAF title fight. For Danis, the bout represents another opportunity to secure his first victory in the promotion while potentially becoming its inaugural middleweight champion.
